Hitori’s luck seems to have gone south as a typhoon strikes the region. Will there be enough people that will make it to see Kessoku Band’s performance? Things are sure looking tough.
Like I said last time, those teru teru bouzu are entirely useless. The typhoon went from the projected path to where the live performance was held. Njika’s older sister, Seika, thinks so, too, as her coworker comes in soaking wet. Yep, they don’t affect the weather, which can be bad news since a small crowd will only come. That means paying for the quota fees, but it is what it is.
From the looks of it, it seems that Hitori’s parents couldn’t come along with Ikuyo’s friends. However, at least the two girls that saw Hitori’s performance showed up along with the drunk rocker lady. Apparently, Seika happens to know her as being her junior and reveals her name as Hiroi Kikuri. Obviously, she finds her annoying.
With the people who bought Hitori’s tickets coming, she gets powered up, thinking the typhoon will stop. It did for a moment before it got even worse. I knew it was too good to be true. Either way, Hitori and her friends seem to have an audience smaller than they expected. I find it funny how Hitori wanted to perform inside the mango box, but she couldn’t do that. Also, that would be a step backward for Hitori. After all, she had grown so much to perform on stage without being in the box.
As for their performance, their first song sounded a bit off. It seems as if stage flight is settling in with the small crowd. It appears as if the audience is losing interest. Thankfully, Hitori came to save the day by playing guitar, first showing her skills before the rest of the band members started playing. It seems that they finally overcame their setbacks as the audience changed their mind and enjoyed the performance.
After the girls performed, they had a celebration at a nearby pub. As expected, Ikuyo ordered a fancy dish, and Hitori wanted to sound cool. With that, she said the name of a dish that didn’t exist when she meant French fries. Also, it’s interesting to learn more about Kikuri. Yep, she performs when drunk, and forgets her lyrics, thus causing her audience to jeer at her. The funny thing is that she says, “I love you mf,” which is censored, as she is about to throw her bass guitar.
After hearing a bunch of salarymen drinking his sorrows away, Hitori becomes anxious if she didn’t make her debut in high school. I find it funny how in her mind, she plays a game of “Life.” Seeing Hitori failing to make the sales target from being set up to forget eventually devolves into life as a Hikikomori drinking her sorrows away. I find it funny how Ikuyo and Ryou use sandpaper to fix her up. It seems that Seika’s coworker seems to find Hitori’s episodes amusing.
After a while, we discover why Seika quit playing in a band when Kikuri asks about it. She simply got sick of it when Hitori saw that Nijika was missing. Nijika was outside, and we found out about her dream. After all, her mother passed away, and her father is away. She views her older sister as her parent. Her interest in bands peaked when Seika took her to performances while playing in a band. Seika quit her band to create her own club. Nijika wants to make a band popular enough for herself and her older sister. Sure, the road there is tough, but without Hitori, they probably won’t be there right now. Of course, Nijika finds out that Hitori is actually guitarhero all along. I knew this was bound to happen, given that solo Hitori played. Hopefully, someday, she will play the same in real life as in her videos to make Njika’s dream come true.
You might be wondering why the credits look like a movie. Well, it’s a gag since the show is not actually over. From the looks of next time, are we finally getting a beach episode? We’ll see next time.
Finally Bocchi shows her “Guitar Hero” skills in a live, at the right moment to encourage the band. It was the result of the growth she had in her street live.
And the highlights from Hiroi’s performances were hilarious. Expecting for more antics from her.
It just shows that Hitori has grown since her first performance and this is the next step. Hopefully she uses that potential to realize Nijika’s dream.
Yes, it’s to be expected of Kikuri of course, which is amusing too.
