Now that Sarasa’s pendent and transport circle is fixed, she has to deal with bandits. However, she knows a way to deal with them.
After Ophelia comes to visit to fix the teleportation circle and saw the friends Sarasa’s friends, Sarasa goes back to what she is doing. Before that, Sarasa uses magic to turn a block of ice into snow cones. I find it funny how she tricks Lorea, Iris, and Kate into eating all the snow cones at once. They had a brain freeze, which Sarasa had planned as they ate it without her. Yep, they got upset, which was hilarious.
With that, it seems that one of her customers, a particular merchant, is apparently buying up all the frost fangs. Of course, this can hurt Sarasa’s bottom line as she won’t get a stock of them. To make matters worse, that person is working with a group of bandits.
Since Sarasa lost her parents to bandits and Lorea mentioned that she lost her grandparents to them, it hits home for Sarasa. Also, while discussing why artifacts are expensive, Sarasa says that she is Ophelia’s apprentice. I find it funny how they didn’t realize the woman that they met was Ophelia, the famous master-class alchemist.
As expected, Sarasa’s plan is genius. She plans to get into a price war so that the perpetrator merchant so he is forced to raise the prices. Also, the gatherers can sell the ice fangs to them to drive the merchant to lose a lot of money and force them into bankruptcy. Of course, the plan is working as the merchant is losing money. I find it funny how Sarasa disguises herself as a superheroine while hunting those bats with the gatherers, Iris and Kate.
Sarasa even got some clues about who this merchant was by visiting Leonora in South Straug. I find it funny how Iris and Kate made a sly remark that Sarasa is tiny. They are referring to Sarasa’s chest, which triggers her as she touches their breasts, saying she will take them jokingly. After all, she can drink a potion to make them bigger, but she would rather not alter her body and have it grow naturally.
Of course, Sarasa met Leonora, and we finally saw her assistant, Filiorne. Yep, she has a rather plain appearance compared to Maria. Leonora reveals that a merchant, Gree Dilly, has a firm grip on the city’s alchemic material ingredients, potions, and artifacts supply. He puts alchemists into debt and forces them to work as slaves, sabotaging them. He also hires bandits to threaten them and also target kids. But, of course, Leonora is hopeful that Sarasa can deal with them since she is not an ordinary novice.
When Sarasa heads home, she gets surrounded by a bunch of bandits. She acted calm as she beat the crap out of all the bandits. As expected, they became scared and offered Sarasa all their money to escape. As expected, Sarasa doesn’t let them off free as she not only takes the money but also defeats them.
I find it funny how Gree comes to Sarasa’s house to sell all the ice fangs he had. I find it funny how Sarasa acts so smug as she buys ten thousand for so little. Gree is like the people who buy crypto, thinking they will get rich and end up losing a lot of money. But at least he got what he deserved from his dirty tactics. At least Sarasa has enough money to help the victims and still come out ahead.
Bandits who value their lives better find think about retiring or stay far away from Sarasa.
Sarasa showed us new sides to her.
It’s a requirement for female alchemists to marry their female assistants. May Sarasa and Lorea fulfill their destiny especially after Lorea’s surprise reveal.
Yep, the bandits should never underestimate Sarasa, she is the exception of most novice alchemists. But yes, it’s not too surprising to see female alchemists have an assistant as well. Hopefully Lorea and Sarasa will meet that too.
