Now that Ikuyo had rejoined the band, the only thing left was to create a song. However, with Hitori tasked to make the lyrics, she starts to struggle. It becomes obvious why.
While Ikuyo finally got the right guitar this time, she is still struggling, despite making progress. I find it funny how Ikuyo admits that she should sing only but is still optimistic that she won’t give up easily. Also, I find it funny how Hitori gets blinded by Ikuyo’s cheerful and outgoing personality. When Ikuyo tries to convince Hitori to sing with her, she shakes her head back and forth violently. She doesn’t want to do it as Ryou and Nijika come in.
With that, Njika called a meeting as she wanted to make her band more band-like. After all, with the band complete, they thought about selling bracelets and creating a fan club. However, when Ikuyo asks for ideas from Bocchi, she panics until Nijika assigns her the most important job she forgot about. Yes, that is the lyrics for the band’s first song.
As expected, Hitori struggled big time trying to come up with lyrics despite being confident during her meeting. Yep, she couldn’t think of anything good except writing her name in a notebook. She even went back to her middle school notebooks for inspiration, but she still struggles. Hitori feels that she can only make depressing songs, which won’t fit Ikuyo’s personality.
I find it hilarious how Hitori tries to put herself in the mind of a cheery person. Instead, she acts like a party animal and a cherry person. The funny thing is that her parents and little sister watch their older daughter go insane. They must wonder what went wrong for their daughter to turn out like this. After this incident, she went into the closet to come up with something. Sadly, she was unsatisfied with the results until Nijika invited her out.
I find it funny how Hitori met everyone at a station wearing a sign that she can’t come up with lyrics. They eventually went around town taking promotional photos, as the one they had was pretty bad. Yep, it’s only with Ryou and Nijika, with a sticker of Ikuyo. Of course, Ikuyo suggests taking a photo at a closed-down music shop, which makes Ryou feel a bit down since she visits that shop often. This makes Ikuyo feels down for obvious reasons.
Hitori mentions a nice wall to take photos at. While taking photos and looking at the ones they took, Ikuyo says she uploads photos of herself to social media. I find it hilarious how Hitori collapses, glitches out and shakes violently over the idea of taking pictures with her friends and sharing them on social media.
The montage of Hitori becoming like Godzilla and destroying a city over this was hilarious. Yes, Hitori’s social anxiety would never allow her to become an attention-whore monster of an influencer. Thankfully, they managed to snap back and even thought about taking a group photo of them jumping. Yes, they even make it evident with Ryou saying that any anime where they jump in the opening theme is a god-tier anime. Obviously, she knows about the famous or infamous “Kirara Jump.”
After finishing the photos, Hitori struggled to create the lyrics until Ryou invited her to a fancy café. After seeing her lyrics, it reminds her of her time in her first band. Ryou talked about her experiences leaving the band since they eventually went commercial and lost the thing that made them unique. That is until Njika convinced her to create a band with her. Still, Ryou seems impressed by how Hitori wrote her name in the notebook.
Besides Ryou making Hitori pay for her food since she has no money and is sick of eating weeds, it gives Hitori confidence. From this, Ryou tells Hitori to make lyrics her own way. After all, Ryou thinks it’s funny if a normie sings it.
In the end, it works out as they seem okay with her lyrics. Still, I find it hilarious how Hitori prints out several copies of that photo and makes it her bedroom’s wallpaper. As always, Hitori never fails to amuse me.
I don’t know how many times I can praise how well the show makes social anxiety funny. It just does it so well. There are other well done jokes too but you get the idea.
Nice to learn a bit about Ryo’s past and how the moral helped Hitori go for it and write a song she’s proud of.
Agreed, I just can’t get enough of Hitori’s social anxiety as yes, they portray it so well. Still, it’s good that Ryou has the goodness not to sell out. Still wonder how the song will turn out.
Awww, this looks really cute, I’m going to watch this show. Your review is great too.
Thanks.
The panic attacks from bocchi are the best highlight of the show. And this is what makes we cheer more for her as she surpass each one of her internal conflicts.
Besides, I am very anxiou about the next episode. If the pace maintain the same, it will introduce the best character of the show (after Bocchi, of course).
Yes, that is the most enjoyable part of Hitori’s personality for sure, compared to the other Bocchi. Either way, we’ll see how it plays out from here now that she finally came up with the lyrics.
