With Ginny finally reuniting with the band, they had to Gallia. Will Ginny reunite with Moffy with the feather that Inori kept last time?
After the emotional reunion with Ginny and her friends, they head off to Gallia. As expected, it’s interesting how Grace never processed Ginny’s discharge request. With that, she is still in the band. Still, I am surprised that Grace allows Ginny to go AWOL for one or two months before returning.
Yep, Grace, like the other girls in the band, felt confident about Ginny’s return and came prepared by making a stage costume for her too. Thankfully, when Ginny put on the costume, it fits perfectly. Nice to see Inori tie Moffy’s feather onto Ginny’s outfit, although she can’t see it. But this will become important shortly.
As for the performance, it looks great. However, Ginny couldn’t participate in the formations, but she will eventually. After all, Moffy, in her black swan form, reunites with Ginny as she regains her witch’s powers. Seeing Ginny hug Moffy as a big black swan is cute and all, but it’s nice to have her back.
Now, an antenna appears, allowing her to broadcast their performance worldwide for people to watch. Also, they got Grace to perform a song before their last song. As expected, Milasha and Inori must help Ginny fly with the Strikers since she got rusty flying them.
After the big performance, it appears that Moffy returned to its regular form. It can turn into its bigger form once it receives enough mana. It can explain why Ginny could use the night witch’s abilities during that incident since Moffy had enough mana but not enough for her final form. Either way, this doesn’t make Ginny combat-ready, as Moffy can only use its powers in large bursts. This is probably a good thing for the band, at least.
Still, I must admit that the girls wanting Grace to sing were funny. They even design a costume for her, including a horse tail and ears. Grace is probably the closest thing you get to a Uma Musume witch.
Final Thoughts
Like other idol anime, Luminous Witches is an enjoyable watch. Sure, combining idols with what Blue Angels do, except with witches. I enjoy the characters quite a lot, and believe it or not, like with previous installments in the World Witches franchise, the yuri pairings didn’t disappoint. Sure, Milasha doesn’t get her own pairing. Although it’s probably a love triangle between her, Ellie, and Aira, the other pairings are apparent. Yes, there is that instance where Inori and Ginny got close.
The music is good, and the CG performances are nice, which you expect from idol anime nowadays. However, some who watch the previous installments feel disappointed by the lack of fanservice outside that beach episode. After all, the franchise is known for its fanservice and panty shots. But on the flip side, it made this installment more pliable for viewers who watch idol anime. So, will I cover the other shows/adaptations in the World Witches franchise? I probably will, eventually.
Another fun spinoff in the World Witches franchise. If we get another one in the future I’m all for it.
Agreed that this is a fun watch, but still interested if they will release more music in that media project, but for sure, they will have another live performance soon.
