Now with Ginny joining the Royal Air Force to join the music band, Grace heads off for an important meeting after the first day of training. Can Aria and Ellie train the girls while Grace is gone?
With the band finally assembled, Grace, Ellie and Aria start training the girls. That is while Ginny is taking the exams to enlist. Grace, Aria, and Ellie have a huge task to overcome. Yes, to convince the locals to doubt that a witch squadron that only sings can help the war effort. But, of course, to persuade them, they need to have the girls perform.
At last, the training begins without Ginny. Don’t worry! She will show up eventually. I find it funny how Milasha obsesses about wanting to be in Aria’s group and manages to get in. Moreover, Ellie laughs as Milasha celebrates being in Aria’s group. I am convinced that Ellie and Aria are already girlfriends, and Milasha hasn’t gotten the news yet. Of course, Milasha might regret what she wished for.
Believe it or not, it’s starting to feel like an idol anime with Grace training Inori and Silvie with the voice training. At the same time, Ellie does dance training for Jonna and Mana. The training went well from the first day until the next when Grace stepped out for a few days. Milasha learns firsthand that Aria’s striker training is intense. Aria is training them for combat when they aren’t. She pushes Maria a bit too hard that her striker stops working after being unable to sleep last night.
Aria can’t let go of her inability to rejoin the combat forces. She doesn’t know her purpose since her combat ability never recovered. We see a flashback at a hospital of her trying to shoot a gun but being unable to do so. Then, Ellie finds her, and Aria becomes upset over her powers not returning.
Aria doesn’t know her purpose as she is used to fighting on the front lines. She is not sure if singing can help save people like fighting. I know it’s tough for her, but it doesn’t mean that it’s the end of her as a witch. As they say, there are other ways to help people, including singing.
After Aria leaves with Maria and looks after her, the girls seem worried that this might end the band. That is when Ginny finally appears wearing a new uniform. Unfortunately, we find out that she is not a Night Witch as she can only receive signals, so she can’t do combat. I figured this would happen since she can’t communicate with the other witches from the last episode.
Aside from that, Ellie takes the girls to the town to do some dance routine training. It seems that seeing the girls make various poses got the children excited. Yes, they eventually join in as they find out the girls there are witches. Either way, it seems they had fun as Maria saw Ginny and told them what had happened.
The next day, Aria drives Ginny and Milasha to pick up some medical supplies. I find it hilarious how Milasha becomes jealous of Ginny being too friendly with Aria. I find this hilarious as Milasha bops Ginny on the head.
It seems that Aria runs into a young girl’s parents who are looking forward to a witch’s performance. After all, the girl became lonely after the other children left for safety.
Still, it’s nice to see Aria sing for her as she realizes there is another purpose for her. Yes, increasing the morale of regular people in times of uncertainty. Also, it’s nice that Ginny and Milasha joined in, although Ellie didn’t like this. Then, of course, the other girls fly in with their strikers showing off their formations, despite being sloppy. Yep, I sense some jealousy from her a mile away.
This episode handles Aria’s character development well as she finds a new purpose. Using her witches’ powers to boost people’s morale. Either way, this motivates the girls to create their own songs and costumes to perform in a concert. I wonder what they will come up with.
Mana remains my #1 hype girl. Fun and sexy like Hibiki Ganaha.
It’s not easy for Soldiers to put their need for combat behind them as we saw with Gekka and now Lady Aira. Fortunately she’s on the right path though she’ll have to do something big to make up with Eri. Poor Milasha will eventually realize her beloved lady is taken.
Not too surprising at all, although it will be nice to learn more about her.
Nice comparison, but it’s definately a hurdle for Aira to find a new purpose since she believed that she belongs on the front lines. Yes, it takes a lot to find a new purposes, but at least she on the right path.
Milasha is heading to a bad ending possibly, but there is always joining Ginny’s harem with Inori I guess.
