We find that Fa is not the dragon attacking the city. However, we don’t know why Selenia’s intentions as well.
After the dramatic rescue of Fa, thanks to Toto and Kotone, they finally get to safety. However, it seems Fa wants to learn more about the dragon. That is while Mona and Serah try to attack the dragon. As expected, their attack didn’t even make a mark. It was hilarious to see how Serah’s sword became useless as it was no match against the dragon. Not to mention, Mona seems to like to say that Satona will punish Serah for this. I think this is a running gag at this point.
Meanwhile, we see Rufuria regretting what she said to Kotone. However, that is when she realized that Kotone was right all along. Thankfully, Rakira comforts her and decides to find Kotone.
Eventually, Satona, with a bunch of elite knights, come and aim for the red dragon for their attack. But, when Fa finds out that the dragon is looking for a place to give birth to her child, Kotone and Fa try to stop her. But, of course, the attack only causes Selenia to lose control of the dragon for a moment. From this, we see a glimpse of her past where her friends got hurt. So apparently, she is probably a victim of a war that she decides to take it out on the kingdom. That means brainwashing dragons, of course, with her magic.
After the failed attempt, Shiro seems to find it too risky to accept Fa’s request to help the dragon out. So instead, Kotone and Fa ask for help from Satona after explaining what is happening. She allows Kotone and Fa to use a griffin as she tries to cure the injured soldiers. Eventually, Rakira and Rufuria meet up with Satona after running into Toto as they want to apologize to Fa.
Sadly, it seems that Fa’s attempts to get to the dragon were a failure. That is when they have a run-in with Selenia, which gives her the idea of controlling Fa instead of doing her bidding. We learn that Fa is a dragon named Fafnir as she separates from Fa while transforming into her true form. Yes, this sounds like Mao with her true form from Endro. Still, I wonder why Satona decided to take her in. She probably knew that someone was targeting her and about Fa’s identity.
Fa goes on a rampage and tries to attack Satona and her knights while under Selenia’s control. Kotone eventually stops her as she and eventually Rufuria and Rakira sing along. It worked for a moment before Selenia regained control and had Fa attack Kotone. Is this the end of her?
I must admit, it’s shocking to see someone, especially the main character, die in a Manga Time Kirara title that is usually fluffy and lighthearted. I acknowledge that the last few episodes were an emotional rollercoaster. Even so, I feel that Kotone will be alright as she wakes up in the coffin through a miracle. Still, I wonder if Selenia will get away with this deed. We’ll find out about Kotone’s fate in the finale. But it’s not surprising to see a lot of action here since the mangaka, Kenmotsu Chiyo, worked on making shonen manga.
Our heroines did their best to help Mama Dragon but alas Selenia’s blinded by revenge and it cost the life of our beloved pink protag. Wonder if the Necromancer they met will play a role in reviving her? I worry how Fa will react once she fully regains her senses and sees what she’s forced to do.
Hopefully Kotone will somehow make it either way as the main heroine can’t possibly die in a light hearted story. Also, can’t forget about that wish and the good luck charm. Either way, it’s obvious that Fa will do a lot of crying once she realized what she did.
