After Momo forces Shamiko to do an all-nighter to finish her math homework, there is the zoo picnic. Of course, Shamiko wants to make a special meal to share with everyone.
Now that Shamiko finished her math homework, Shamiko wants to learn some special skills when she gets into trouble. Sadly, Shamiko is only good at crying, that only works for martial arts. That won’t be useful against enemies like syringes and medical devices. I have a feeling that Momo did this so Shamiko would cry.
Either way, Shamiko tries to figure out what to make for their lunch. Naturally, Shamiko wants to impress her beloved. However, the bento she made looks dull and lacks color. Also, I find it funny how Lilith suggests Shamiko put some seaweed on top of rice and ketchup in the middle as blood. Yep, Momo wouldn’t like this meal. From this, she would probably rethink her decision to become Shamiko’s vassal.
To prevent that, she enlists the help of Lico, who is a renowned cook. I find it interesting how the local prestress chased her out of her job. Lico uses 100% organic leaves with psychological effects on the person in her cooking. Without Shirosawa taking Lico in, she wouldn’t cook normally.
I find it funny how she makes a shining riceball that gives light from the color of the rainbow. This reminds me of Sanae’s Hyper Rainbow Bread from Clannad, as it gives off a similar light. Then, she force-feeds it to Shirosawa, and he hallucinated.
Yes, it makes the lunch look colorful, but Shamiko obviously doesn’t want to drug up her friends. With that, Lico teaches her how to make a meal look and state good without using drugged-up leaves. Yep, Shamiko turns her wand into a pre-oiled chef-class wok to make karagage. Sadly, it didn’t prevent Shamiko from burning it as she had the oil
Shamiko eventually asks about the Light Clan. After all, she remembered what Momo said about not all magical girls being easy-going like herself. But, it doesn’t seem that Shirosawa and Lico know much about them. They also know that magical girls attacked and hunted demons for a token to obtain.
Also, it seems that girls make contracts with the light clan to become magical girls. Although probably less so than the contracts Kyubey makes, this looks very suspicious. Thankfully, magical girls these days aren’t like that. Still, it makes Shamiko think about why Momo and Mikan decide to protect her and her family.
Meanwhile, Momo is looking for something to wear. Although it looks cute, she doesn’t want to wear the dress Mikan lent her last time. While Momo doesn’t have the same fashion sense as Mikan, a T-shirt with a “Simple Black T-shirt” printed on it caught her eye. Sadly, they don’t seem to have it in her size. The funny thing is that there is a real-life version of this shirt.
In the end, Momo ends up wearing one of Mikan’s dresses before changing into an outfit that suits her. Obviously, Momo became disappointed that Lico and Shirosawa showed up. She really thought she was going to the Zoo with Shamiko only as a date. But, of course, there is a reason why Lico, Shirosawa, and Mikan are tagging along. More on that later.
As expected, they went to the Zoo. As expected, Shirosawa looks like one of the zoo tapirs, but he stands on two feet to fit in with the humans. I find it funny how he catches the attention of everyone, and Lico wants to sell pictures of him. It caught the zoo keepers off guard. It’s evident that Momo feels anxious about her relationship with Lico, although she is okay with Momo. Yep, she can overhear Momo’s worries thanks to her ears.
After looking around the Zoo, they tried to have lunch. Before that, Shirosawa explains something important about Momo and why he and Lico tagged along.
Remember that gambit Momo pulled to save Shamiko? Her forcing her attribute to dark and Mikan forcing it back makes Momo’s vital force go off balance. Yep, Lico, disguised as Shamiko, tries to force-feed her rice balls that are actually medicinal leaves to restore the balance. But, of course, Momo notices. Lico couldn’t give a convincing impression of Shamiko. Momo knows so much about Shamiko that she can see through Lico’s disguise. Shirosawa ends up having to explain his intentions.
When Shamiko and Mikan returned with the drinks, she remembered the VIP tickets to pet baby tigers. Sadly, the petting event ended when they got there. Momo was upset as Lico offered to turn into her fox form for Momo to pet. Yep, Lico looks so cute that Mikan and Shamiko want to hug her next. I guess better luck next time? I find it funny how Lilith seems saddened that she didn’t get to tag along.
With that, Shion moved into the same apartment building and planned something sinister. Looking at the preview, Momo forgot to take the medicinal herbs that Shirosawa provided. This causes Momo to turn into her Darkness Peach form. I wonder why this happened. We’ll find out next time.
Momo really, really loves Shamiko. Shamiko has no need to worry about Momo killing her for a wish token.
That is probably a good thing. Still, I find it cute how that Momo really thought she was going on a zoo date with Shamiko, but others tagged along.
