While there was a one-week delay, and it’s not Shamiko’s fault, she finally goes to a summer festival. Guess who showed up there as well. Also, she is having trouble completing her homework, particularly math.
I must admit that the recap, or rather the fake one was hilarious. Lilith decides to make a recap that reminds me of Gakkou Gurashi or one of those zombie survival stories. Yep, Shamiko begs to join with the survivors, and it takes her convincing that she is a good cook. The funny thing is that Lilith becomes a zombie thanks to that Shiba Inu dog’s bite. Of course, Shamiko tried doing a rap on what happened, but the narrator finished the job.
Aside from that, it seems that summer break is almost over as Shamiko shows Anri her diary. Everything Shamiko did during summer break sounds more like her going on a mission. Yes, with Momo and Mikan to find clues about Sakura. Shamiko mentioned that Momo went to the dark side and celebrated it. After all, that was an achievement.
Of course, Anri finds Shamiko’s idea of summer vacation strange as she is not doing fun stuff. To find answers to what people do for summer vacation, Shamiko stopped by Café Asura for some answers. Yep, she worked there a bit to sell lunch boxes, and she received pay. Yep, Shamiko wondered what this meant as she bought a used Super Famicom game and played some video games. Then again, this is what I did during summer break while in high school and college, besides browsing the internet.
Eventually, Shirosawa and Lico mention that summer festival and Shamiko decides to go while wearing a Yukata. Shamiko did various activities, but she felt empty. It was like something was missing. The funny thing is that the PA calls Shamiko a lost short girl while saying that two magical are looking for her. She really didn’t like that, especially the being short part.
As expected, she became annoyed at Momo and Mikan while welding a light sword. Still, it’s surprising that Momo and Mikan came dressed in Yukatas too and looked cute in them. Lico forced them to wear them, and Momo couldn’t say no. Although Momo didn’t seem motivated at first, they did many fun activities after Shamiko changed her mind.
The funny thing is that Lilith calls Momo “Fresh Peach” to the main table because of her grievances over the lottery. Yep, I guess she wants Momo to deal with them. I find it funny how Momo wants to ignore her as Lilith is up to no good again. What I find funny after all this is that Lico reveals that the Yukatas Shamiko, Momo, and Mikan were wearing are just a leaf. Since Lico is a Huli jing, she can transform objects into anything. From this, I can see why Shamiko becomes disturbed by this idea.
In the second half, Shamiko is doing her math homework. I find it funny how Momo wants to do something besides homework. After all, she wants to put it off to the last second. Not too surprising since Sakura spoiled her by asking her teacher for an extension, I can see why Momo acts this way.
Since Shamiko wants to set a good example after making the promise to Sakura, she wants Momo to finish her homework. It’s more of Shamiko wanting to see what Momo writes. Sadly, she won’t write about her experiences of going to the dark side to save Shamiko. From this, we learn that Momo was an orphan. I wonder why her parents abandoned her. The mystery behind Momo deepens.
Eventually, Shamiko realizes those zoo tickets and bribes Momo with them. It was super effective. However, the same can’t be said for Shamiko, as she struggled with her math homework. I guess math is her weak point, although Momo forces her to pull an all-nighter to finish it. After all, it’s no fun if Momo’s beloved can’t go to the Zoo with her because of homework. You guessed it! Shamiko should do what she preaches and do her homework. At least her little sister, Ryoko, appears more studious and finished all her homework early. Aside from that, it looks like they are going to the Zoo as summer vacation ends. The next episode should be fun.
The Resident Romero Live flashback was so good!
The baka couple yearn for each other even if they don’t know it, mostly Shamiko. Love to see it.
The comedy on this show remains top quality every episode.
Compared to the first season one, it’s more over the top. Yes, not too surprising since Shamiko made Momo do her homework to go on a zoo date. I find it funny that Momo does the same to Shamiko as she struggle with her math homework. It’s obvious that she wants to make it happen.
