One night, Touko is feeling a bit down. I wonder what is the thing that causing her to feel sad.
It’s obvious that the cultural festival is almost here as Himeno heads to the club room. Of course, Mika needs to meet with the costume staff. Of course, we see Naoko in a potential costume. Apparently, their class is doing a haunted mansion. But I wonder, what is the pottery club is doing? Himeno thought about displaying some pieces they made and sell them. Makes sense since Touko is working on a special piece to exhibit at the festival.
When Himeno went to the club room, Touko was by the door. If you recall from the beginning of the episode, she was looking at a photo album. It had pictures of Touko’s younger self spending time with her grandfather. She is feeling a bit nostalgic. Moreover, Himeno feels that something was off about Touko too. This is especially the case when Himeno greeted her in the morning.
As Himeno heads to the club room, she sees Touko. Apparently, she is not in the mood as she decides to not go in the club room. Himeno decides to cheer her up by taking her to a gohei mochi place. Sadly, Himeno got the last one and she wanted Touko to have it. Of course, she doesn’t want it since she always has them. As expected, that defeats the purpose as Himeno really wanted to cheer her up. At least they had some Takoyaki.
With that, we find out the reason why Touko feels a bit down. She wants to win best in show prize for the competition from last season to impress her grandfather. We know that didn’t happen. The reason Touko becomes depressed this time is over her grandfather’s answer of attending the cultural festival of “if he can make it.” Of course, he never showed up and she failed to win the prize.
It’s obvious that Touko wants validation of her efforts from her grandfather. He already knows what his granddaughter is capable of. Of course, Himeno finds out from her father that Touko’s grandfather has very high standards for praise. It’s obvious that Himeno wants to help her. Yep, her grandmother gave sound advice and Touko needs to cut loose and get out of that rut.
With that, Himeno and her friends decide to have some fun shopping for clothes. I have to admit it’s nice to see them try out various outfits. After lunch, they went into a pottery shop. Of course, Touko sees the piece that she loves from the internet. Of course, it’s too expensive. Despite the price, she doesn’t feel it suits her.
Either way, she seems to have a lot of fun. It helped Touko as it took her mine off her grandfather’s high standards. Of course, Jimena shows up out of nowhere and she introduces herself to Touko. Apparently, she is looking to solve a mystery about a mysterious tool in the pottery studio. I wonder what she means as Himeno accepts her request. Yep, Himeno obviously accepts. Still, I wonder what is really about.
