Given the drama over what happened last time with Chiyu and Kukuru, I guess we needed a breather. Of course, with Fuuka and Kukuru planning an outing with her coworkers one weekend.
Believe it or not, Fuuka and Kukuru went out to dinner at Ohana. Yep, they find out that they have a day off on the same day and Undon too. You know what this means, right? They plan to have a hang out with their coworkers. After all, the idea is that they need a breaked and it’s something that Fuuka wants to do all along.
In the morning, Marina meets Akari, and she recognizes her. Eventually, they come into Kukuru’s apartment and Undon, Fuuka and Kukuru greeted them. I find it funny how Akari is surprised by how clean Kukuru’s apartment. As expected, they eventually relaxed as Undon brings out the drinks and make a special breakfast for them.
Also, we learned that Marina visited Gama Gama after looking at the aquarium photos that Kukuru has hanged up. Kukuru eventually asks why Marina decided to become an attendant at the aquarium. Of course, her answer is simple. She thinks it’s easy to communicate with sea life. Either way, she shares enthusiasm for sea creatures like Kukuru.
Of course, Akari wondered about how Fuuka takes care of her skin. Yep, she touches Fuuka’s cheeks, which surprises her. Either way, she likes how nice they are and wants a skincare lesson from her. Yep, they willing to teach them. Eventually, Karin comes in with Kuuya. Yep, Kuuya seeing Akari and Marina using the roller on their face freaked Kuuya out.
Of course, Karin isn’t going to let him leave as she wants him to get over his fears of being around women. The funny thing is that when he goes to the bathroom, he leaves the apartment. It’s not until Kai and Eiji finds Kuuya sleeping on a park bench nearby. Of course, he is all drunk. They obviously brought him back to the apartment.
When evening came, Marina, Akari, and Karin left. Eventually, Chiyu and Kaoru came over with her son. It’s clear that Kaoru is helping Chiyu out some way or another. Yes, it’s surprising that Chiyu doesn’t act cold towards Kukuru now. This becomes apparent when Kukuru wants to give Chiyu a massage.
As expected, it’s easy to take this situation out of context as Kukuru corners Chiyu. Of course, Chiyu is still acts like a tsundere towards her and tells Kukuru that her massaging skills suck. I guess some things don’t change. This can explain why Kukuru’s grandfather decided to get one of those seat massagers. Kukuru also gives one to Kaoru, which she obviously big scream when Kukuru undresses Kaoru for a massage.
Aside from that, they had a Takoyaki guessing party and played with fireworks outside. Eventually, Umi-yan came by to drop something off. He also picks up Kuuya. Apparently, he got married as she gives Kukuru and Fuuka a gift. Of course, Undon left a special treat for Kukuru and Fuuka. Overall, it’s a nice breather episode and it’s a good way to get away from that a-hole boss Kukuru has.
Nice break episode from the hectic aquarium stuff.
A step in the right direction for Chiyu’s redemption arc. Fingers crossed the do the right thing with her, Kaoru and Shizuku.
Thank you Marina and Chiyu too to some degree.
Agreed. It’s always good to see the girls take a break, but also Chiyu defrosting too. Hopefully things will get better and that those fights will be a thing of the past.
Nice chilled episode. Biggest moment for me was when Kukuru cornered Chiyu. I did think for a moment she may try something more painful than a massage. But I guess all that angro is just water under the bridge now seeing as they both gave each other a backrub.
With this relationship seemingly mended it does seem like plain sailing with only the “final boss” being Kukuru’s actual boss! If Kukuru can get over that ass then I don’t see where the tension will come from this series.
I suppose the final “king” question will be whether Kukuru finally gain the courage to ask Fuuka out on a date? That’s the real reason we have been watching right? 😛
It’s good that the drama with Chiyu and Kukuru is over. I guess their relationship is not too far gone, which is a good thing. But yes, Kukuru’s boss is another story and I have my doubts. But I do agree with the last question.
