After Kukuru had a bad first few days of work thanks to her terrible boss, she starts to lose some hope. That is until a special someone appears. Yes, Fuuka is back!
Like I said last time, Fuuka will be back before we know it. After all, she won’t forget her promise. Sure, the poster for the second half was missing Fuuka, and it’s probably for a good reason. Fuuka didn’t tell Kukuru since she wants to make it as a surprise. Of course, she was two days late due to her flight delays.
As expected, she is going to work at the same aquarium. Of course, Kukuru seems excited that Fuuka is going to become her neighbor. It’s obvious that Fuuka used Kukuru’s grandfather’s connections to get in. Not too surprising since this allows Fuuka to be with Kukuru.
Of course, Fuuka gets to become an attendant. As expected, Kukuru is still jelly. Even so, since Kukuru gets to work with Fuuka, she is not going to give up. Yes, even if her boss is a big a-hole and won’t even help her out trying to plan the tour event. It’s obvious that Kukuru is still salty about this, even during Fuuka’s welcome party that Karin threw.
As expected, Fuuka is lucky since she will do work, she is familiar with. Yes, taking care of penguins. Of course, she is not taking care only a few, but many as 20. Surprisingly, Chiyu doesn’t act like a stuck-up Karen towards Fuuka in contrast to Kururu. She just wants Fuuka to memorize all the penguin’s identities to win her trust.
Still, this doesn’t change my mind about Chiyu since she is still irredeemable and unlikable. This contrasts to the more cheerful Marina, who seems enthusiastic about penguins. She also has a familiar voice to a familiar blonde hair girl in Kiniro Mosaic that wears a union jack sweater.
Aside from that, Kukuru worked with all the departments to get the tour event rolling. Sure, Chiyu gives Kukuru a no. You might be wondering if she did it because she hates Kukuru or enjoys tormenting her. Of course, there is a good reason as Kukuru finds out for herself later. Either way, Kukuru also rehearses the tour with Maeda. It’s obvious that Kukuru is trying her hardest to prove her worth and get back at her a-hole manager.
Of course, Kukuru is not going to give up adding the penguins to the tour. When she tried to convince Chiyu, she is not there. Fuuka and Marina is there. Of course, Marina seems to like the idea after Fuuka introduces Kukuru to her. Of course, Marina encourages Kukuru that Chiyu will eventually cave.
As expected, Kukuru wants to go home with Fuuka. Of course, she has that quiz, which Kukuru helps her out studying with. Of course, Fuuka is still guessing the names wrong as Kukuru tests her.
Afterwards, this is when they realized that the penguins are still getting used to their new environment. This may explain the reason behind Chiyu’s reluctance. She eventually caves and allows Kukuru to add the penguins to the tour when they are feeding them. Thanks to Kukuru helping Fuuka study, she aces the quiz.
Overall, the tour went fine, although only one group took the tour. Of course, Kukuru’s manager calls her efforts pathetic even if it’s her first time doing a project like this. I guess he will forever be an a-hole and irredeemable as Karen Chiyu or probably worse.
Aside from that, the moment where Kukuru and Fuuka cooked dinner together is nice, although Kukuru overcooked her food. I guess with Fuuka around, it makes the job tolerable despite having an a-hole as her boss. It’s only a matter of time until Kukuru improves and proves him wrong.
Fuuka’s return made Kukuru all the happier. Glad they’re together again, especially after Fuuka said she came back because of Kukuru. Progress!
Yes, its good that Fuuka is back, but I wondered why they hid her appearance on the first poster for the second half. It’s obvious that she is coming back.
Still, I think Kukuru being able to work with Fuuka will make her job bearable
The fact Fuuka is under Chiyu could be a boon for Kuhuru. My feeling is that Fuuka’s humbleness and mature attitude will act as a calming measure against Chiyu so she is not so abrasive. The fact that her colleague Marina also seems reasonable will mean her bitchiness will have to be restrained.
If Kuhuru gets some success in her role then that may help her garner some trust from Chiyo too. Chiyo’s scorn seems to be centre on the fact she hates that she had to work so hard to get her role while others walked into their positions. I suppose if the pair keep passing her various tests, she will learn to respect their passion. She really does need to get over her high horse though and her crap attitude.
I will say the biggest ass in this episode is Kuhuru’s boss who has done nothing but complain. At least with Chiyu she had reasons for her refusal AND was capable of compromise. Kuhuru’s boss on the other hand suggested nothing and only complained…
Also, some of it is because Kukuru had animosity against Chiyu when she worked at Gama Gama. I know, it’s tough to train one’s replacement, but I can see why Chiyu treats Kukuru poorly too.
But yes, Kukuru’s boss is an insufferable a-hole. I don’t see him redeeming himself ever, unless he messes up really badly.
