Kukuru’s grandfather wants Kukuru and her friends to take a break. After all, all the workers are working non-stop. Of course, her grandfather has other plans.
It’s obvious that Kukuru is working hard to keep the aquarium alive. Apparently, her social network efforts and the touch pool brought in more visitors. Of course, the snow cones are a money loser. I highly doubt this had a measurable increase of visitors.
Despite the hard work, her grandfather wants Kukuru to take a break. After all, the workers are working non-stop. As expected, Kukuru wants to keep going, but her grandfather insisted her to take a break. Obviously, he has some motives on why he wants them to take a break.
As expected, we finally get the beach episode. Of course, the only one who wore a swimsuit is Fuuka of course. While she looks cute, it seems that girls in Okinawa play in the water without taking their clothes off. Yes, it’s because of the UV rays. Either way, Fuuka still have lots of fun with her friends.
Also, there is Kai’s little sister, Maho. While she is cute and prefers Fuuka over Kukuru, that is as much I am going to say about her. We also learn about Kuuya as well. It appears that he tried to ask a girl out, and of course they rejected him. That is despite his popularity and getting good grades. Of course, the girls became vicious and try to ruin his reputation because he had the nerves to ask them out. This led him to drop out of school. I must admit that is kind of messed up, but I don’t blame him.
He didn’t recover from this until Kukuru’s grandfather gave him a job at the aquarium. While it’s hard work, he changed for the better. I guess this can explain why he doesn’t feel comfortable being around girls.
Of course, there is her grandfather’s intentions with the aquarium. Kukuru overhears Kuuya and her grandfather. He apparently wants her granddaughter to get used to life without the aquarium. That can explain why he wants everyone take a day off on the same day.
While, Kuuya was visibly upset, but Kukuru was the most. Fuuka wondered what happened since Kukuru disappeared. Eventually, Kukuru feels anxious as she must do something as her grandfather wants to close the aquarium.
Fuuka reassures her that everyone is in it together. Still, I wonder how they will get her grandfather to change his mind. Maybe more visitors or revenue? We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s going to be an uphill battle. Yes, probably at the same level as Yoshino and her friends trying to revive a struggling town. The question remains, can they pull it off with the odds stacked against them. We’ll have to wait and see.
Realistically, there is nothing now that could be done to save Gama-Gama. They are well into August and the Aquarium is set to close on August 31. But Aquatope is more than realism! It has a guardian Kijimuna (the redhead who eats the fish heads) who stole Fuuka’s hat. According to the law of equivalent exchange in the spirit world, he now owes something back. Also Gama-Gama is in some sense, alive, and gives visions to certain individuals. The mysterious old man in last EP may be a retired industrialist who returns to invest in Gama-Gama saving it! In any case, divine intervention (a miracle) is the only way that Gama-Gama can be saved at this point in time! After 7, we have 17 more episodes to run. Does the “closing of the Aquarium arc” go all the way, or is that solved early, and we move into the Kukuru and Fuuka story arc, but then Fuuka must leave after August 31. We face nothing but problems! but so good!
Yep, I kind of feel the same way given that time is not on their side. Then again, as you mention, the guaridan an probably create a mircle of some sort. But still, it’s kind of feeling like Sakura Quest at this point.
So far so good for our heroines, yes.
So bullying was the reason Kuuya isn’t good around most ladies. Nice to know he cares for the aquarium too.
Yep, bullying is not cool at all. Still, I can’t believe a bunch of girls decide to ruin his life because he wouldn’t take their offer. It’s a bit messed up.
