With Hiori finally figuring out her feelings, Momo still tries to find answer about her memory with Mio. At last, we finally learn what really happened between the two that day along with Mio intentions.
As expected, it seems that Nina is trying to pray her jealousy away. Of course, Uta teases her. It’s obvious that her jealousy of Hiori being Mio’s little sister is getting to her. Nina really snaps when Uta points out that Nina’s weak right arm and that her feelings are wavering. It’s obvious that Nina is in denial, even though she doesn’t know the truth about Mio.
As for Mio, she sits in the rose garden as she sees Momo. Momo really wants to know what really happened. Mio tells Momo to do some back tracking. Of course, Mio asks about what reflectors are. They are simply more than just protecting or taking people’s feelings. They can also interact with fragments, which are crystalized forms of people’s feelings and the source of power in the world.
Of course, Mio brings up Yuzu’s and Lime’s name. They are the Shijou twins from the video game. They also appear in the first episode. No, the AASA didn’t give Momo the rings, it came from these two girls. Mio went on that she fought together with Momo to gain powers from fragments and fight in the Common to protect the world against Sephira. Not to mention, Mio’s and Momo’s ring colors were different. Mio had a blue gem ring while Momo had an orange one.
Of course, Momo still understand what Mio just said. That is until Mio reveals the truth about this world on why she is taking feelings. Yes, after Momo hugs Mio, she finally sees everything and regains her memories. This is when Mio finally revealed that they died once since Sephira defeated them and destroyed the world. As expected, they are in a different world since someone else defeated it. If they don’t go into the Common and defeat it in three days, they will die.
Out of nowhere, Nina attacks Momo. As expected, her jealousy shows since she doesn’t like that Momo was Mio’s true partner. While Momo went on the defensive, she eventually asks Nina why she keeps fighting on her own.
Eventually, Momo had enough as she neutralizes Nina’s lightning attack. She basically tells Niina off that she doesn’t have what it takes to fight alongside Mio. After all, they need to have the same feelings, fight together, and watch out for each other. Eventually, Momo’s sword gotten bigger as she manages to fend off Nina’s attacks. She eventually punches Nina in the gut. In other words, Nina is simply not compatible with Mio.
Before Momo left, she asks Mio why she left Hiori behind. Of course, Mio dodges the question as she makes her final preparations to open the gates to the Common. It’s obvious, she wants a rematch against Sephira. I won’t be surprised that she simply used Shino, Niina, and Uta just to have another try at defeating Sephira to save the world. The question is, will she become successful this time? Still, I wondered why she hid what she was doing from Hiori. I guess we’ll find out eventually.
Interesting twist. Looking forward to see how the story plays out and who in the Red Ring Gang could betray the others. My money is on either Mio or Uta.
Mio and Momo could hopefully rekindle their bond and grow stronger after this ordeal.
I have a feeling the second half of the show will have more connections to the game. Hopefully we get an episode tying the events of the game and anime together beyond Yuzu and Lime or the monsters.
From the preview images for the next episode, it seems that something might happen with Nina. Still, I wonder how the relationship with Mio and Momo will develop from here.
Yep, I need to make an effort to finish the game, somehow. Hopefully it won’t become too spoilish.
