Despite buying and installing the handle covers, it seems that Koguma and Reiko is still too cold. With winter quickly approaching, they need to figure something out, or buy “that” thing,
Yes, while Koguma’s idea of adding handle covers helped, it can only do so much. She discovered this on a cold fall morning while riding to school. Yep, even with the handle covers, the cold is becoming unbearable. The funny thing is that Reiko is still adamant about not buying “that” since it will make her bike look uncool. It becomes obvious what is “that” is, more on that later.
It’s nice to see Koguma utilize the mess kit she bought last time. Of course, Reiko seems to feel a bit cold while eating outside. As expected, Shii comes up and asks if she can eat lunch with them. Yep, she gave them hot drinks with a hint of alcohol in them. Yep, they had to put a disclaimer for obvious reasons. It shows up at least two times.
After drinking the hot drink, Reiko becomes curious about how “smol” Shii is. Yes, it’s not too surprising since she is short. Reiko thinks Shii can fit the rear box of her bike. After Reiko asks about the coat, she realize that she has something that can help her. Yep, she brings out a large abrasive wool sweater, which is good in cold weather.
When Koguma decides to try it on outside, she thinks it will work. She and Reiko with Shii decides to go back to school to have someone make their creations from the wool sweater. Yep, I find it cute how Shii becomes uneasy as she rides on Reiko’s bike. Yep, Reiko rides so fast, but Shii survived. Still, it’s good how their home rec teacher managed to create the wool cardigan into something useful. Yep, she was happy to make something out of abrasive wool.
As expected, the new wool accessories helped. However, it can only do so much. After a while, Koguma still feels cold, and she wanted to concede defeat by buying one of those. Reiko of course remains adamant that she won’t buy one. Of course, they gave in eventually.
It becomes obvious what is “those” they are talking about. Yes, it’s a windshield. Of course, someone who owns a cub needed on and decides to buy the last one. While Reiko seems, happy there is no more windshields, until the shop keeper finds stock. Yep, they are still not going for it. It’s not until Shii asks if they should try one that they test drive a cub that has one from a nearby shop. Yep, this test drive changed their minds.
In the end, despite the windshield ruining the look, it’s a more practical upgrade. After all, it keeps the wind away from their body, thus making the riding experience present during winter. This of course gives the feeling of why I didn’t think of this before. Either way, it seems that they are ready to ride their bikes during winter.
