At last, the big day has come as the bands performs. Of course, there is a dark monster lurking.
As expected, it seems that Howan and her friends are nervous about performing. Of course, Howan seems okay and tries to calm the girls down. Of course, they didn’t realize what was in store.
When they got on stage and about to perform, the dark speaker monster appears. Of course, Howan wonders why it followed them here. Of course, a lighting bolt from the monster strikes Howan, knocking her out. Still, I wonder why it aimed at Howan specifically.
Thankfully, Howan is not in dire danger, just unconscious from the shock. While the other bands use the power of music to fend off against the monster, Rufuyu, Delmin, and Himeko tries to wake Howan up. As expected, the things she says when she is asleep is funny and usually about eating. While Himeko and her friends becomes worried that Howan won’t wake up, Cyan assures that she will surely wake up. Indeed, she eventually does.
As for the dark speaker monster, apparently the reporter, Rameka knows about it. Apparently, she knows about Ziipe. Ziipe used to be a famous musician of a band. During a performance 69 years ago, his soul left his body accidentally. It wondered around until it went into an amp at the studio she stays at. He became involved with a rumor that when musicians feel that they can’t achieve their dreams, they become grudges that turn into dark monsters.
For the last performance, Mashumairesh finally performs their song. I liked how all the bands join in the song. The song became so powerful that it takes down the monster. Either way, it’s a good ending. Also, it’s funny to see the same speaker, but not in evil form at the agency Mashumairesh associates with. It seems that it wants to listen to more of their music.
Final Thoughts
As expected, the fourth season of Show by Rock remains very enjoyable like the previous installments. The way they put in the dark speaker monster as a small detail is funny as it leads Mashumairesh into crazy situations. Yes, the city accused them of blowing part of the city up and went on trial. They also have a lawyer that can sing prove their innocence. Also, their training camp and other activities they did with the other bands are fun. Also, it’s nice to see Plasmagica and Mashumairesh perform a song together while giving them advice.
Of course, there is the boy bands. These segments were alright, but since I only really cover shows with a mostly, if not all female cast, I don’t really focus on them that much. But there is nothing to write home about it.
As for the pairings of course, Howan and Himeko remains strong as ever from the last season. I guess everyone should know this already.
Of course, the pairing that received the most development is Ruhuyu and Delmin. Yes, they eventually got into an argument when Ruhuyu wondered off and Delmin becomes upset. Thankfully they made up after finding out their actual intentions. Also, there is that special training Ruhuyu did with Delmin’s father, that allowed him to repair his relationship with his daughter. Of course, there is that moment on the beach. I won’t spoil it since it’s basically the moment their relationship received an upgrade.
Lastly, there is Retoree and Cyan. As always, Retoree gets obsessed with Cyan being cute and takes pictures of her. Sadly, her relationship didn’t progress as I hoped. Maybe the 5th season is the charm?
Speaking of which, there is already talks about a 5th season. I won’t be surprised since the franchise is doing well for Saniro, the masterminds behind Hello Kitty. Not to mention, the franchise will turn 10 years old in two more years since it started in 2013.
Second favorite anime of Winter 2021. Mashumairesh were yet again great protagonists and you already know I don’t mind the boy bands personally.
Shame CyaReto didn’t make much progress compared to HowaHime and RuhuDel but hopefully with the successful SBR fundraiser we’ll either get a 5th season or movie and the dog and blue kitty can finally tie the knot then.
Agreed. I have to admit that Mashumairesh meeting the other bands make the series a bit more fun. But it’s a shame that Cyan and Retoree didn’t progress much, but it’s good that Ruhuyu and Delmin get a relationship upgrade.
