As the trip in Izu continues, we find out what was the “Operation Shrimp” plan was all about.
After camping at the site that Minami found at the last minute, Nadeshiko and her friends checks out other natural sites. Before that, it’s nice to see a flashback of Nadeshiko when she was about to move away. She makes a promise to hang out during winter break to Aya. As we know, she did that, but this time with Rin. Also, Nadeshiko was afraid that she won’t make friends. But obviously, she manages to make friends thanks to the Outdoor Activity Club
The next day, the girls went to a restaurant that serves sashimi. As expected, it looks good and makes me want to have some. They also visit the Dogashima and tombolo. Of course, Akari seems very excited about the tombolo thinking it’s food. Of course, Aoi does some deception trying to convince that tombolo is food. It’s just a path that is crossable during low tide. The Sanshirojima has a tombolo.
Yep, when Akari went to the other side, she tries to look for the tombolo. Ena had to tell her that it’s not food, but a path that a low tide reveals between two bodies of land. Of course, Akari becomes angry as Aoi’s deception falls apart. Thankfully, she makes it up with some food. But still, after looking at those islands and crossing them, Nadeshiko thinks it will be a fun place during the summer. If only we had a beach episode. Still, it’s nice for them to have a swimsuit shot.
With that, they finally arrived at the camp site at the Mt. Daruma Highland. This is where Ena, Aki and Rin prepare the surprise dinner. Of course, Nadeshiko, Aoi, and Akari want to do something in the meantime. Yep, they catch Minami trying to drink. Yep, she can’t resist the temptation. Thankfully, they caught her at the right time.
You might be wondering, what is Operation Shrimp. We find out what it is. Apparently, it’s for a surprise birthday party for Nadeshiko and Aoi. Yes, their birthdays are on the same day and of course, Akari spills the beans about it. The funny thing is that Nadeshiko and Aoi knew about it. Yep, Aki made it very apparent to Aoi and Akari didn’t know about it. It’s obvious that they are bad at keeping a surprise a secret.
As expected, Ena, Rin and Aki surprises Nadeshiko and Aoi with a birthday cake. Yes, it’s clever how they made the cake with whip cream, fruit, and pancakes. Also, they give them presents too, which are wooden cookware. Lastly, they make fried rice which of course has a lot of shrimps. They use the broth with the shell of the spiny lobster to enhance the favor. Once Aki put the shrimp sauce on, the shrimp favor overpowers everything. I guess this is what “Operation Shrimp” was all about.
After sleeping for the night, the girls except for Akari woke up early and walked up Mt. Daruma. Rin and Nadeshiko got up to the top and had some spiny lobster miso soup. Yes, Nadeshiko mentioned that her face became dry while delivering cards. Of course, Rin gives her advice to help relieve that. Believe it or not, Rin reveals that her family rode bikes as her mother knew this. I guess riding is in their genes since Rin rides a moped of course.
Eventually, Aki, Aoi, and Ena made it to the summit. Yep, Aki collapses on the ground after arriving at the peak. Eventually, the girls drink the miso soup as the run rises. With that, Nadeshiko becomes excited for the last day of Izu. This makes me wonder what they will do before heading back home. We’ll find out next time.
No surprise the girls suck at surprises. The double birthday was still fun.
While Aoi’s wet t shirt in S1 was lovely the pink bikini here is better.
We know Nadeshiko’s destined to become Rin’s housewife.
Definitely, The birthday party during a camping trip is perhaps their worst kept secret. But I hope there is a summer camping trip if there is a sequel to this so we can get a full beach episode.
Nadeshiko is too good.
