It’s obvious that the organizations behind creating an artificial Lily, Yuri now want her back. Of course, Riri is not allowing them to take her.
As expected, the headmaster is reluctant to create a conflict with a government research organization GEHENA and Charm manufacturer, Grand Guignol. Ultimately, the headmaster ultimately decided on Matsuri, Shinobu and Mayuri to take custody of Yuri and hand it over to the organizations who want her. Before they can capture her, Riri ran away with Yuri after Yuyu instructed her to do so.
Yep, everyone, including the lilies are now chasing after Riri to arrest her and capture Yuri. Thankfully, the Hitotsuyanagi aren’t necessarily on board. Apparently, Kaede called her father and she didn’t like what he did in creating artificial lilies. Yep, she pretty much disowned him after calling him out on his scheme. He knew it’s wrong to create Lilies from Huge is immoral even if he had a good intention. Still, it’s good that Kaede picked Riri over him, which doesn’t come at a surprise. Either way, they decided to protect Riri. This is not too surprising since Tazusa has a grudge against GEHENA for experimenting on her.
While Riri hid in an abandon building with Yuri, Yuri doubts that she is human. She also believes that lilies and other humans will hate her since she came from a Huge. However, Riri doesn’t believe this. She thinks that Yuri is a normal girl. Even so, Riri is special to Yuri as she is the one that created her identity.
Eventually, Yuyu and her friends came. It seems that Moyu was able to convince the government that Yuri is 100% human. Not too surprising since there is some evidence of this in the 7th episode. Thankfully, she brought in a lot of proof to convince the government to stand down.
However, Riri is about to face hardship like Yuyu did. A big huge appeared taking in a lot of Magie. Yuri decides to go and defeat it. While Riri couldn’t keep up, it seems that Yuri used rare skills that are from her and managed to defeat it, but at a huge cost. The core of her Charm completely broke and of course after defeating it, a huge explosion happened. It’s very unlikely that Yuri survived.
While I feel sympathetic towards Riri as she lost someone that she was close with for a short period of time. After all, Yuri came to her. Riri’s loss now compares to Yuyu’s losing Misuzu. The question is, how will Yuyu will help Riri to cope with her loss? After all, Yuri is like their daughter to them. Either way, rest in piece, Yuri.
Hope Yuri somehow returns because going the “heroic sacrifice to prove you’re a good person” route would suck. I’ll even accept the 0.01% taking control of her and her parents saving her with their love.
It will be interesting how the aftermath will play out. Nevertheless, I think Yuyu will find a way to help Riri overcome her grief since she faced the same situation before.
