After Miu and her friends performed at their reunion concert, they decide to have a Christmas party. Little they know, there are three new girls that shows up to their lair.
If you remembered from the last episode, after 22/7 had its reunion performance, the wall printed out one order. This order is to recruit three more members. Wait, three more members? Well, yes since they didn’t reveal the last three members until 2018.
Meanwhile, it seems that Miu and her friends talked about their experiences of their reunion performance, they go back to their usual meeting place. Believe it or not, it looks like nothing has happened at all. It’s surprising since Miu and her friends knocked the wall down and see a room of computers. Still whoever operates that room remains a mystery. They also talk about possibly throwing a Christmas party too since they are on break.
With that, three members came out of the elevator. Apparently, they are big fans of 22/7. While the girls, especially Miyako becomes surprised by their appearance, they are indeed wearing the same uniforms. Not only that, the three girls received invitations too. Still, it’s funny to see Hiiragi Tsubomi fangirling Jun and Akane. Accompanying her is Kamiki Mikami, who is athletic and the more traditional, Tojo Yuki.
It seems that Miyako has an issue with these three new members. Since Mikami, Yuki and Tsubomi is joining the group, she doesn’t think 22/7 will be the same. After all, up to this point, the group is always 8. However, Miyako’s true feelings don’t show up, until the Christmas party.
As expected, during the Christmas party, Miyako is making Okonomiyaki. When Tsubomi suggest putting tapioca in it, Miyako became really upset. She believes that her signature dish can only have 8 ingredients. Thankfully, Reika calms her down before the situation got worse.
With that, Mikami, Yuki, and Tsubomi show their skills. Apparently, Mikami is skilled at traditional Japanese dance. As for Yuki, she is apparently good at sports, although she can’t demonstrate it. Lastly, Tsubomi is good at socializing. It’s not too surprising since she was fangirling the members of 22/7, especially Jun and Akane.
Miu decides to buy drinks and Nicole decides to tag along. She eventually asks her what she thinks about the new members. After all, Nicole knows how cutthroat the idol competition is. Still, I think Miu will figure it out. Still, it seems that Nicole is confident that Miu will keep the group together. After all, she is the one that brought 22/7 back together to face off against “the wall.”
After a while, Miyako hid in the hallway. Eventually, Yuki sees Miyako as she talks to someone on the phone. After Miyako says being idol is not all fun and games, Yuki apparently already knows that already. Either way, she says that she is taking it seriously. Also, apparently Tsubomi was a part of an idol group as seen from a photo on her smartphone.
From this, Miyako finally accepts reality that the new members aren’t fooling around. After Miu brought some ingredients for Okonomiyaki, Miyako makes a special one with new ingredients, Baby Star, mochi, season cod roe, and cheese. Miu reminds Miyako that while they are currently in a warm place, but there could be a warmer place outside.
Overall, the OVA is a nice teaser to what to come for the group. As expected, the moments with Miu and Sakura are always nice.
Miu X Sakura got a small but cute moment.
Fingers crossed we get a 2nd season so we can learn more about the new trio.
Interesting to see Miyako being the one to be against change initially. Glad she was convinced to welcome the new girls too.
Again, S2 need. Hopefully it won’t be too long before it gets announced.
Yes, any moment with Miu and Sakura is precious. But with this episode, I agree that there needs to be a second season. The three new members are nice.
