While Nataka’s home run from last time surprised Yomi and even the rest of Shin Koshigaya. However, Yoshino seems really upset. Can Shin Koshigaya really make a comeback?
Of course, Shin Koshigaya manages to surprise me. Sure, Yomi seems upset that she couldn’t stop Nataka, but she isn’t giving up. Challenging Nataka just only fired Yomi up. With that, she was able to strike out the rest of the runners.
In the 6th inning, Rei managed to run three bases with one hit. While Risa manages to bring it home, she wasn’t able to make it. Sadly, when Yomi bat, she didn’t quite make it. Thankfully, when Ryoyukan’s time to bat, Shin Koshigaya was able to fend them off without them scoring at all. Meanwhile, it seems that Kazumi is losing her touch.
During the last inning, it seems that Tamaki finally made it to first base. Meanwhile, Yoshino is losing all confidence. This is especially the case when Kazumi and Nataka swapped places as pitcher. Thankfully, Nozomi came to cheer her up and remind her that it’s not for her, she would have transferred now. After all, Nozomi still believe in her.
With that, Nozomi is not holding herself back any further and going to bat a home run. After all, there are two runners on base so far. Sure, Nataka believes she striked Nozomi out. However, Nozomi is laser focused. With that, she manages to bat the ball. To everyone’s suspense, the ball made it out of the park, thus pushing Shin Koshigaya to the lead with a homerun. It’s happy to see Yoshino happy with tears as Nozomi hugs her. I think they might make a good pairing.
Now with the lead, Shin Koshigaya just needs to strike everyone out. Sure, they screwed up once, but they managed to strike out two players. Now, there is Nataka. Instead of giving her a free run, Yomi is certain that she will get it this time. Sure, there were a few foul balls, Nataka thought she got it. However, Nozomi catches the ball, thus ending the game.
Well, I kind of doubted myself into thinking that Shin Koshigaya might not make it since Nataka is a real threat. Believe it or not, they pulled though. I guess this mostly have to do with Yomi having confidence in the team and of course with Tama. Without Yomi coordinating a strategy with Tama, they would have a hard time to take Nataka out. Either way, Shin Koshigaya now has to work harder considering that they made it to nationals.
Final Thoughts
I don’t know why baseball anime seems to have questionable animation quality. Yes, Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine had moments of things being off model at times, but Tamayomi has some noticeably inconsistent animation. Despite the anime animated in full CG, there are some strange animation choices.
While the last episode doesn’t look bad, it does make me wonder how things will look like if they had a better studio animating this. I just can’t help to think that this show is the worst animated Manga Time Kirara title.
That said, the story was still interesting. It’s nice to see Shin Koshigaya work against all odds to not only win a game but make it to nationals. They even defeat a tough team and manages to overcome the odds against them. As they say, baseball games can become unpredictable. Yes, even a really skilled team like Ryoyukan manages to lose against a team full of first year students.
Still, it’s nice to see Shin Koshigaya making it further than what Tsubasa could ever do. After all, Yomi’s team has a lot of skilled players instead of being mostly amateurs. This of course makes the games a lot more interesting.
Lastly, you can’t forget the nice yuri moments, especially with Tama and Yomi obviously, but also some notable ones like Yoshino and Nozomi obviously.
I had found the girls’ baseball anime that was as good as Taishou Yakyuu Musume. The animation was average at best but the players were all sexy gays with mighty thighs. That’s what mattered most.
Yoshino X Nozomi was a welcome surprise. Was hoping the small hints would lead to something incredible and I got my wish.
Glad to see this team broke the “Japan Sports Anime” curse.
I haven’t watched that particular show, but the story was enjoyable despite the animation woes. it’s nice to see Yomi and her friends pull through in the end instead of losing.
But yes, Yoshino and Nozomi was the big surprise.
I recommend TYM whenever you get the chance.
I will add it to my plan to watch list, which is already pretty big.
