It seems that Shin Koshigaya is struggling to stage a comeback against Ryoyukan. Do things get better from here, or worse?
From last time, it seems that Ryoyukan had enough holding themselves back. Ryoyukan did a double play in the third inning, thus thwarting the plan that Yoshino had in mind. Sadly, things do not get better from there. Sadly, Tama messed up catching the ball when somebody messed up a squeeze, thus giving a runner an opportunity to run.
Now that the bases and You is about to bat. Tama and Yomi decided to just give Nataka a free run and take out two players afterwards. While Ryoyukan is now ahead one point, it prevented a disaster. Sure, the crowd didn’t like it, but Shin Koshigaya needed to bide their time. Yomi used a special power fastball pitch for the next batter. It’s enough to stop them in their tracks.
It’s obvious that the failed plays are frustrating Yoshino. Sure, that power fastball pitch helped prevent further damage, but Tama advises Yomi not to use it. After all, Yomi hasn’t perfected it. Tama wants her to save it for later. Either way, it seems that they are able to fend them off in the next inning. Sadly, Yoshino is not able to make up lost ground.
Now down by one point, it’s time for Ryoyukan to bat. There are two outs, but Nataka is now batting. Yomi pitched several balls. While You strike once, eventually hits all the balls, but they are fouls.
Eventually, when Yomi used her power pitch, You bats a homerun. This demoralized the whole team, including Yomi as she thought that she got it. It’s obvious that this will happen since she is a nationals-level batter after all.
With that, things definitely look grim for Shin Koshigaya. Besides the demoralization from failing to strike out You, they are now down by two points. It’s going to take a miracle for them to score 4 points to turn the tide. From the looks of it, it’s basically a good game, at least for Ryoyukan. Even if Shin Koshigaya ends up losing, at least they now know what areas to work on. Of course, they will also know Ryoyukan’s strategy if they have to face each other again.
There wasn’t much to add. Our heroines were struggling as Ryoyukan lived up to their reputation. This was the most exciting game of the show, worthy of being the last one that aired and a necessary multi-parter.
Yes, it’s nice to see them be a formidable challenge, especially Nataka batting a home run. It just makes the game more exciting indeed.
