Now that Crimson Vow (sort of) defeated a Wyvern, they are now famous. Will their overconfidence get them in trouble with the next and difficult quest? Maybe.
From completing the Wyvern quest, it appears that Crimson Vow reputation went up significantly. With that, crowds of hunters are wondering what quests they are going to do next. Believe it or not, Crimson Vow decides to take the hardest quest of investigating a phenomenon of scholars, hunters and monsters disappearing.
While the reward amount increases, it’s a risky proposition, but they are willing to take it. After all, they are confident in finding the phenomenon. This makes me wonder if their reputation is giving them a bit too much confidence thinking they can achieve this quest. Surely, they overprepared for the quest. Still, Mile kind of foreshadows something. Mile is concerned that her friends are depending on her a bit too much. While her friends don’t believe that Mile won’t die, it seems that they underestimated her warning a bit.
During their search, they fight some monsters and animals, but eventually they ran into a gang. Yes, a gang of beast people threaten to kill them if they don’t put down their weapons. Of course, Crimson Vow curb stomped them. After they scouted, they found the hostages in a jail with two beast people guarding them near an ancient temple. Sadly, the professor is still in the temple.
To rescue the processor, Mile and her friends curb stomped the beast people again. The leader warns them not to go inside or they won’t make it out alive. Sadly, they didn’t heed his warning. They did manage to rescue the professor, who looks like a young girl. Her name is Cu Leleia and she is adorable. While she looks young, she is actually an elf.
Sadly, they can’t run away since a dragon came out. It’s not an ordinary dragon, it’s an elder dragon. When Mile tried to attack it, it didn’t do any damage. It talked and then wracked its tail, throwing Mile to a wall. Blood came out of her mouth. I guess the foreshadowing of Mile’s warning kind of hits home now.
While Reina, Mavis and Pauline don’t believe that Mile died, they defend themselves until she can recover. Maybe she has a plan up her sleeve. Regardless, it’s obvious that Mile’s power pales in comparison to the Elder dragon. After all, her power is only half of that. We have to wait and see what she has planned next time.
I had a feeling the show would eventually use the “Overconfident Heroes” trope. The cliffhanger was exactly what I thought it’d be. We’ll see how Mile makes her comeback next time along with our respective reviews.
Not too surprising, but hopefully Mile has a plan to get out of this debacle.
