It’s the end of the second semester and Bocchi haven’t made any new friends. Meanwhile, Sotoka wants become friends with Bocchi, but this will mean that she has to give up her apprentice status.
I have to admit that the strong Bocchi thing is quite funny. It seems that this is caused by her lack of progress in making friends. Sure, she got closer to Kako, but Kako won’t admit that she is her friend yet. I guess this should be a motivation for Sotoka to upgrade her relationship level with Bocchi.
The thing is, she is afraid of not being her apprentice anymore after becoming her friend. Also, there is Bocchi that might not recognize that she is strong if she did it. Still, it’s mostly on Sotoka’s dilemma of whether she should stay her apprentice or become her friend. While she tried ask about it on New Year’s Day, she still couldn’t bring herself to do it.
At last, the new year finally came in as Bocchi and her friends go to the temple. I find it funny how Aru is still unfortunate when the wind blew her cotton candy away. The funny thing is that it came back after landing on her smart phone. This is after she sent a text message to Kai. Not only that, Bocchi and her friends ran into Kako. Sure, she is harsh as always, but it’s nice for her to say Happy New Year to her so-called friends.
Aside from that, Bocchi finally apologizes to the two girls, Kurie Ito and Onaka Peko whom she run into. This is when Sotoka about to ask Bocchi to become her friend. With that, she became friends with Ito and Peko after promising to make pancakes together in the future. The funny thing is that Kai and her friends were heading to a temple as well.
Now that school is back in session, Bocchi says good morning to her new friends and Sotaka is in disbelief. It seems that she is upset that Bocchi won’t address her casually. It’s understandable since Aru and Nako are close to Bocchi yet she is not. She think that Bocchi feels the same way, until Bocchi doesn’t address Sotoka casually.
At last, Aru eventually reveals how Sotoka felt to Bocchi. Eventually, Sotoka and Bocchi talked to each other on the rooftop. I find it funny how Bocchi revealed her new Shuriken and want to make one together. Now, Sotoka feels that she can’t be her apprentice anymore.
After consulting to Nako and Aru, she finally throws a shuriken with a message in it saying that she wants to be her friend. It’s heartwarming that Sotoka is willing to give up her dream of becoming a ninja to become friends with Bocchi. She seems to love Bocchi more than a ninja. It’s good that Bocchi is happy of having someone ask her to become her friend. Either way, this is a nice heartwarming moment. After all, Bocchi haven’t had anyone ask about become her friend. I guess there is some upsides to the situation Sotaka is in.
Despite being friends now, I find it funny how Bocchi and Sotoka is still having trouble addressing each other. While some things haven’t change, at least their friendship is now confirmed and Sotoka doesn’t have to worry about it anymore.
I will never forget Bocchi!
