Somehow, Miyako’s mother doesn’t seem to like how her older daughter is still wearing the same clothes from high school. Can Miyako survive her clothes shopping trip given her ultra-shy personality?
I find it surprising that Miyako’s mother finally talks about the clothes her older daughter, Miyako wear. It’s quite surprising how she is still wearing the same street clothing and tracksuit from her high school years when she is at home. I know it’s comfortable, but she doesn’t look all that presentable. Also, her mother knows that Miyako is into cosplay, meaning that she knows that her daughter has interest in clothing. Maybe she just find clothes shopping too difficult since she has to interact with others.
In other words, Miyako’s mother is forcing Miyako to buy clothing. I don’t know how this will go given Miyako’s shyness despite Hinata tagging along. When the shop clerk comes up to Miyako, she becomes scared. While Hinata tries to protect her, the shop clerk drags her away. Of course, a second woman comes up to Miyako asking if she needs help. Thankfully, Hinata came back and manages to escape.
It seems that Miyako buying her own clothes is simply too difficult for her. We know that already since she had a hard time going into a sweets shop in the 6thepisode. In the end, Miyako ended up buying fabric to make her own clothing. I find it funny how her mother already predicted that this will happen. Maybe she should have let Miyako buy clothes online instead so she wouldn’t have to interact with other people. Then again, she wouldn’t make any progress to overcome over her shyness. Just imagine the situation Miyako will be in when she tries to find a job, let alone survive a job interview. It will be a disaster.
Aside from Miyako spending rest of the money on Hinata, Hinata eventually split off to see Kayori and Kanon. Shortly after, a little girl comes up to Miyako and she happens to knows her name. It becomes obvious why. At the same time, Hana and Noa finds a Shiba Inu pup that is named Miyako. Sure, Hana has a fear of dogs, but she eventually pets the dog.
It’s obvious where the dog and little girl came from. The said dog is owned by Kouko and of course, the little girl is Kouko’s little sister, Yu. It’s obvious why the dog is named like it is and Yuu happens to know Miyako. It’s because of Kouko’s obsession over Miyako. She even has thousands of photos of Miyako, even those wearing cosplay, especially White Lilly. No wonder Miyako seems freaked out by this.
Still, there is that photo when Miyako’s mother look through an album from the closet. There is that one photo in particular where Miyako is wearing an eyepatch. While we are not sure if she is doing it for fun or had an eye disease, this remind me of Takanashi Rikka. This makes me wonder if Miyako was a Chuunibyou during middle school or that she wore different color contacts during high school because it’s cool. After all, Miyako wore glasses when she is in college. The mystery deepens.
Yu’s cuteness is definitely lethal but Koyori’s the cutest of all still.
Good on Miyako slowly recovering from her social anxiety. Not easy but baby steps, yes.
