At last, Hizume suggests doing a training camp. It’s obvious where this is going, right?
While Kohane hang up posters to advertise the newly formed Cheer Club, a girl comes up to her for help. Apparently, it’s the president of the Manga Club. She wants the Cheer Club to help them out. This ranges from posing and keeping the artists awake. After the Cheer Club helps them out, Hizume suggests that the Cheer Club should enter in a tournament.
The girls decide to go to the dojo Hizume’s father’s friend knows for a training camp. Hizume is concerned by how distant she is with Kana. She wants to break the wall between her. While Hizume attempts to get closer with Kana fails, she decides to have the girls run on a beach. Still, Kana has trouble interacting with Hizume, until Uki tells Hizume that Kana has a crush on her. Kohane and Kotetsu tries to help Kana get over her shyness and get closer to her crush gradually. Kana gains the courage to ask Hizume to put sunscreen on her back without running away.
I wondered to myself, what can the Cheer Club do to help the Manga Club? While the girls help keep the artists stay awake, who seems exhausted, they also do some poses. Of course, they involve some romantic moments. It was nice to see some Kohane and Uki and Kana and Hizume moments with some of the poses. Of course, Uki and Kana was blushing, more so for the latter.
That said, it seems that from the girls helping out the Manga Club, Uki wants to take cheer to another level. Of course, this means a cheerleading tournament. To get there at least, they need some training. Hizume knows a place by the ocean where they can train. It’s obvious what this means, right? Yes, it’s a beach episode.
During the training camp, it seems that Kana is becoming distant towards Hizume. It’s understandable that Hizume really wants to get closer with Kana. However, she believes there is a wall between her. The wall seems more like Kana becoming flustered towards Hizume as she becomes overexcited when she thinks about her crush rather than being scared. The funny thing is that Hizume is oblivious to the whole thing. It’s not until Uki reveals that Kana likes Hizume when they are on the beach.
When Hizume decides to have the girls run on the beach, how Kana reacts becomes more apparent to Uki, Kohane and Kotetsu. It’s evident with Hizume asking Kana if it’s okay to apply sunscreen on her back. It was too much for Kana that she runs away. Thankfully, Kohane and Kotetsu convinces Kana that Hizume is a normal girl and she would be hurt if Kana keeps being distant to her. They suggest Kana to walk aside her and get to know her better.
While Kana tendency to become flustered and run away when she sees Hizume is a hard habit for her to break, it’s nice to see some progress. Thanks to Kotetsu and Kohane giving Kana a push, Kana was able to ask Hizume to put sunscreen on her back. At least now, Hizume knows that Kana has a crush on her rather than mistaking it as her being scared. Hopefully, Kana can control herself around Hizume so she can at least make some progress rather than running away.
Best episode by far. Uki and especially Ushiku were fantastic and Arima was on fire with her droopiness and comedic slowness.
Ushiku FIGHTO! Do your best to control your libido. Also Uki FIGHTO! Being in love with an oblivious genki is as hard as loving an oblivious droopy babe.
Yes, this episode in no doubt is filled will yuri to the brim. But yes, hopefully Kana can control her affection for Hizume. When you brought up Riko from Kobayashi, I guess Kana would be at that point if it’s not Kohane and Kotetsu helping her control it.
