As the year comes to an end, Sophie and Ellie celebrate the holidays with Akari and her friends.
At the end of October, Sophie and Akari decides to throw a Halloween party. They dressed up in their costumes with Hinata, Ellie, Sakuya and Yuu coming over. They ate candy, played video games and done various activities while in their costumes. Two months later, Akari, Sophie, Ellie and Hinata decides to plan for their Christmas party. Sophie and Hinata on Christmas Eve cooked dinner and afterwards, Sophie, Ellie, Hinata and Akari exchanged gifts with each other.
At the end of the month, the girls spent time under the kotatsuwaiting until midnight to bring in the new year. Akari and Hinata woke up early in the morning to see the first sunrise of the New Year. Sophie and Ellie tried too, but of course, Akari and Hinata stops them before they turned into ash.
While I am not a big fan of Halloween, it’s nice to see what people dress up as. I have to admit that it was cute to see Akari dress like a vampire. It looks so convincing that Sophie’s reaction is priceless. Akari told her about Halloween and she simply applied makeup to look like one. Also, it seems that Akari wants Akari or Ellie turn her into a vampire. Sadly, Sophie and Ellie won’t do it for obvious reasons. Will they change their minds someday? Who knows.
Either way, while Akari wanted to make a costume for Sophie, she decided to order one on the internet. She dresses up as a witch and she looks cute. Still, Akari seems disappointed since she could have made a costume that would fit better.
As for Sakuya and Yuu, they dressed up as gothic zombies. Hinata dresses as a wolfwoman, which is probably not the best of choice since werewolves are seen as rivals towards vampires. Lastly, Ellie dresses up a sexy devil, which leaves everyone speechless. This is bound to happen given her personality. While the party lasted a few hours, it’s nice to see Ellie offer Hinata to walk her home together.
The next holiday Sophie, Akari, Ellie and Hinata celebrates is Christmas. It’s quite surprising to learn that Sophie spent time on Christmas Day looking at fanart. Since Ellie wants to experience Christmas in the modern era, Akari suggests exchanging gifts.
The funny thing is that the gifts they exchange are predictable. Akari gives a pair of gloves to Sophie since her hands are cold. Sophie in return gives her a manga volume. As expected, Ellie and Hinata exchanged gifts with each other. Ellie ends up giving Hinata a tube of lipstick while Hinata gives Ellie a stuffed animal. It’s quite obvious that Ellie is trying to make Hinata less tomboyish as we seen so far in past episodes.
As for New Year’s Eve, it feels relaxed. Yes, Sophie and Ellie actually spent all that time to clean up the living room to set up a kotatsuto relax in. Before relaxing in there, it’s nice to see Hinata and Akari pet some cats. Sadly, it seems that the stray cats are not fond of Sophie and Ellie. It must be the fact that they don’t emit heat, which cats become attracted to.
Aside from that, it’s surprising to see Sophie and Ellie fall asleep on New Year’s Eve since they are usually up at night. Still, it looks like Akari and Hinata couldn’t stay up all night until the sun rises. At least they woke up on time before the first New Year sunrise happened.
Wonderful Holiday(s) special. All three couples got their time in the spotlight. Was happy to see Sakuya X Yuu get more time to love each other on screen. Same goes for more Ellie X Hinata.
Yes, seeing the girls celebrate the holidays is nice, along with the shipping. It’s obvious that the Ellie and Hinata pairing is strong in this episode.
