For a while now, people are wondering how Satou got that apartment. We finally learn how she obtained it.
A faceless neighbor decided to allow Satou to clean up after finding her all wet from the rain. In return, she volunteers to pose for him in a painting. As the painting comes close to completion, Satou brought back a girl. However, she seems happy, which causes the neighbor to become jealous. While Satou set up the bath, he decided to try to murder the little girl. However, Satou murders him before he could carry out what he wanted to do.
Meanwhile, Asahi finds Shoko crying. He eventually tries to cheer her up after she reveals that she regrets rejecting her friend. Meanwhile, Taiyou wants to see Shio in fear of losing her, yet he wants to be normal again. Two women ran into him, which causes him to become scared. Satou comes up to him and notices that he wants to see Shio after throwing a sock that Shio wore. She gives him an offer that he can’t refuse. She wants him to direct that boy away so he can’t find Shio.
At last, we finally learn what kind of person that Satou ultimately murders. As expected, the faceless neighbor is a loner who makes counterfeit art and never experienced love. He wanted to see Satou become complete. While it’s interesting to see how he interacts with Satou, it’s obvious that he experiences jealousy. When he saw her holding Shio in her arms, it’s obvious that he didn’t like it.
Of course, two wrongs don’t make a right. As one would expect, the faceless artist is not normal either. Look no further to how he perceives Satou as an empty girl that he can shape to fit his needs. Now that seeing Satou with Shio upsets him, he wants to eliminate Shio. He believes that this is the reason why Satou is no longer the ideal girl he pictured. Without knowing, Satou kills him to protect her. Sure, her actions are morally wrong Given that he attempted to murder a little girl, Satou have no choice but to protect her. Either way, this can explain the bloody room and those bags that the home room teacher threw out eventually.
As expected, we now know why Taiyou is so worried. He wants to see Shio since he believes that Shoko will fall in love with her when she sees her. While he desires to become normal again, I don’t see that happening given how messed up he is. At least Satou came and it’s obvious that she doesn’t like the fact that Taiyou went into contact with Shio and obsesses about her. Despite this, she spares him and instead, making him a pawn to drive away Asahi. Then again, I am not sure if that will work.
As for Asahi, it’s interesting how he calms down Shoko. Just like Shio, he does the head pat thing to Shoko. It’s obvious that Shoko will probably fill the void with Asahi instead. Sure, it will disappoint those who want Satou and Shoko to happen. Still, I kind of saw it coming given that Shoko helps him out several times already. I guess it’s not meant to be since Satou seems more interested in Shio after all.
An interesting origin story for the room. As a fan of mine said we learned:
“if you find yourself talking to a cute girl in static and silent film title cards, it’s time to see your therapist…BEFORE you try to strangle a loli”.
Taiyou’s a poor unfortunate soul.
I worry for Shoko and Asahi’s well being, mostly Shoko. Let’s hope they make it out of this moderately sane…and alive.
It just shows that the neighbor that Satou dealt with is not normal. Karma eventually caught up to him.
But yes, Shoko should be very worried, especially when getting involved with the boy that Satou detests. To me, it won’t end well.
