Now that Shoko saw the posters containing pictures of a little girl, how she will confront Satou, her best friend.
Shoko in disbelief finds a boy who collapsed on her way home. The next day, Satou goes to Taiyou’s house with something written in the notebook. When Taiyou reads the notebook that his mother hands to him, one of the pages contains a question if he wants to see Shio.
While Shoko returns home from work after seeing that Taiyou and Sumire is missing, she tries to find Asahi. She eventually finds him under a bench. After giving him some food, she finds out more about his past. His drunkard father abused him for five years until his death.
When he escaped and went to his mother’s place, he found out that his little sister is missing with his mother’s spirits completely broken. After hearing Asahi’s story, Shoko wants to get the truth from Satou during an outing with her. While Satou is unwilling to tell the truth, after hearing her out, she decides to do so.
As expected, this episode is a rather gruesome one, especially in regards to Asahi’s past. It’s surprising that he has the bravery to sacrifice himself in order to protect his mother and little sister. He makes a promise with his mother and little sister that once his father is gone, he will return so they can live together in peace. Sadly, things didn’t work out as he planned.
Still, it’s easy to feel sympathetic towards him for since he has to endure the pain until his father passed away. Even after living through what looked like hell, the thing he looked forward to wasn’t there. I have to admit that would give anyone a bittersweet feeling after one went through all that. Still, he is determined to make his dream come true. The question is, will Satou let him? I highly doubt it.
Given that Shoko heard Asahi’s story, I have a feeling that she might get in Satou’s way since she wants to do the right thing. She is conflicted given that she does not fully know what Satou got herself into. Moreover, she has a sense of urgency to help Asahi out to find his little sister.
Lastly, it seems that she is suspicious of Satou. Satou claims that she has a boyfriend yet she doesn’t have one when she said found someone special. I have a feeling that Satou might start distrusting Shoko. I can’t blame her since Shoko is normal and wants to do the right thing, even if it goes against her best friend. Whatever Satou does next time, we have to wait and see. I highly doubt she will openly show that she kidnapped Shio for her own desires, even if Shio have no desire to return to her mother.
