It seems that Kaoruko can’t catch a break as she received yet another rejection.
Kaoruko have her manuscript checked by Mayu and she rejected again. Kaoruko started crying and left while feeling all down. When she returned to the dorms, Kaoruko becomes depressed believing nothing changed and at the rate she is going, she feels like embarrassment machine. Kaoruko’s friends tries cheer her up saying that she isn’t alone in this.
After cheering Kaoruko up, Koyume and Kaoruko started studying. However, they started fooling around. After they realized, they had a study session with Tsubasa and Ruki. The next day however, Koyume forgets everything she studied for the history exam since she can only think about Tsubasa.
With the exams over, Nijino decides to have a drink with Mayu and Nijino. Mayu feels down over Kaoruko while she drinks. She is afraid that Kaoruko will quit on her. They also reminisce the memories they had in the Manga club. Eventually, Mayu and Nijino decides to visit the dorm and hang out. Eventually, Mayu decides to check on Kaoruko and gives advice via text message. The next day, Mayu asks about how Kaoruko did on the test. She barely passed. Mayu decides to grade her storyboard instead giving harsh criticism. She gave it a failing grade, causing Kaoruko to become upset.
It’s a known fact that Kaoruko cries a lot and even in the manga. She cried 40 times in the span of one year. This episode is a rough one since Mayu rejected Kaoruko’s story boards when she thought it was good. Sure, Mayu is a tough critic and Kaoruko might think she is mean, she only wants her to improve. After all, I can understand how she feels since I got rejected so many times that I lost count. All hope is not lost because someday, there will be a hit.
Hopefully, Kaoruko understands this and know that she is not alone since she has friends. It shows when Ruki hugs Kaoruko in an attempt to cheer her up. Still, I have to admit that it’s sad to see that only compliment Kaoruko received is from her mother.
I have to admit that the protagonist’s love interest in Koyume’s manuscripts look like Tsubasa. It doesn’t come at a surprise that she has a huge crush on her. Even after studying Tsubasa’s poses as a studying aid for the exams, Koyume can only think about Tsubasa as seen in the eye catch. Still, I have to admit that this is funny and comes as no surprise.
At last, it’s nice to see Mayu, Ririko and Nijino hang out with each other. From this, we learn what type of manga they made back then. It’s quite obvious that Ririko made Yuri manga. Of course, the big surprise is Mayu’s and Nijino’s. Mayu made some type of 4-koma comedy manga, which looks similar to what Kaoruko is trying to create. As for Nijino, she made Yaoi manga. Does this come at a surprise? After all, she wonders if Tsubasa will draw Demon Lord and Black pairing while at the dorms. This can explain why she likes Tsubasa’s manga so much.
I have to admit that Nijino looks way younger without her makeup on. From this, I just find it amusing how Ririka have her dress in a school uniform as lounge wear. Also, Nijino’s reaction when Tsubasa came into the room is funny since she went into full fangirl mode. Of course, there is Suzu scaring the crap out of Nijino and Mayu. It’s funny seeing Koyume’s reaction when she comes into Ririko’s room and see a scared Nijino and Mayu.
Aside from that, it’s nice to see Mayu check on Kaoruko and give her advice. Hopefully, Kaoruko will get back on the right track. Even so, it’s nice to see that Mayu still cares about Kaoruko. After all, she wants Kaoruko to succeed and not quit on her. Despite this, it’s funny to change her methods to reduce the impact on Kaoruko. From the looks of it, grading Kaoruko’s work poorly is still rough for Kaoruko. Hopefully, she will get it someday.
Sad KAOS hurt my kokoro. Good thing the editor cares about her deep down and wants her to succeed.
Koyume still gushing over Tsubasa. Very nice.
Getting to learn more about the adults was nice.
I agree. It Is sad to see Kaoruko cry, especially this much in one episode. At least her editor isn’t as mean as I thought.
Yes, the Koyume and Tsubasa ship is strong.
