At last, the moment everyone is waiting for is finally here. Not just a beach episode, but Koyume going on a date? Yes, it’s true.
It’s summer time and Koyume decides to take her friends to a beach. Kaoruko, Ruki and Tsubasa didn’t bring swimsuits, so they rented theirs. Koyume had fun on the beach while the rest of the girls spent time sketching. Eventually, Kaoruko, Ruki and Tsubasa joined in on the fun.
While Tsubasa and Kaoruko played video games the next day, Koyume and Ruki went clothes shopping. While they had lunch, Koyume reveals that she doesn’t have relationship experience, which she needs to create her manga. Ruki suggests a date, but Koyume don’t know any boys. Also, she only has a crush on Tsubasa. With that, Ruki suggests Koyume to go on a date with Tsubasa. While she is nervous at first, Ririka have two amusement park tickets prepared. In short, Koyume takes Tsubasa on a date to an amusement park while Ririka, Kaoruko, and Ruki observes.
I knew that a beach episode will happen since I took a peek of the first volume of the manga before I started reading it yesterday. As expected, Koyume looks attractive. Of course, Ruki and Tsubasa also look nice as well. It’s obvious that Ruki is reluctant to play on the beach because of her insecurities. Still, I think she looks pretty the way she is.
I find it amusing that Tsubasa decided to stay home and play video games with Kaoruko. It’s not surprising since she is a tomboy. I wonder how she will look in feminine clothing. Still, I have to admit that Koyume’s clothing choice looks cute. Also, the lewd remarks Ruki said about when she becomes excited when one steps off sailor outfits is funny. It definitely got the employee’s attention.
The main feature of this episode is of course Koyume’s date with Tsubasa. Sure, it’s quite obvious that it’s like love at first sight when Koyume saw Tsubasa. It’s not surprising since Tsubasa looks like a handsome boy.
With that comes the date, which have a lot of nice moments. This includes Tsubasa buying all the souvenir and sweets for Koyume, taking pictures with a mascot, riding a roller coaster and riding a Farris wheel. It’s cute that Tsubasa holds on Koyume when she is on the roller coaster. It’s surprising to see her not be that good at them. It could be worse since Kaoruko passed out after getting off the coaster.
On the Farris wheel, it’s surprising that we didn’t see a confession yet although it came very close. Instead, Koyume shares how she feels about making manga. She reveals her complex that she is far away from having a serialized series despite her efforts.
While it’s not a kiss obviously, Tsubasa pats her head telling her that she needs to keep doing the same thing and have fun while she is drawing and not worry about catching up. After all, she promises that she will wait for her no matter how long it takes. I have to admit it’s a nice moment and hopefully Koyume won’t disappoint Tsubasa now that they made a promise.
As a whole, it’s a nice episode with a lot of nice moments. It’s funny seeing Koyume’s and Kaoruko’s editors cosplaying. It’s funny to see them run away after taking a sight of Koyume and Tsubasa. Also, Ruki, Kaoruko and Ririka knows about their hobby. Now, there is no hiding the fact that they cosplayed, no matter how embarrassing it is.
Another excellent swimsuit segment in a Girls Club show. Laughs along with sexiness. much appreciated.
The KoyuTsuba date was wonderful from start to finish. Hopefully one day Koyume will sort out her feelings and tell Tsubasa everything.
The Matron being a semi-retired yuri mangaka was a most welcome surprise. The teacher and KAOS’ editor being pro cosplayers was another sweet treat.
KAOS X Ruki kinda had their own date as well.
Yes, the beach episode doesn’t disappoint.
But yes, the date is good although no confession. I do hope she will sort out her feelings. Even in the manga, the attraction is obvious, especially when she doesn’t want Tsubasa pose with her in well, yeah.
As the other pairings, hopefully someday.
