Hana receives some money in the mail. It becomes obvious why.
At last, Hana’s mom wants Hana to take the next step. With that, Hana will buy a new outfit on her own with the money she received. It’s obvious that Hana is worried that her mom still picks her outfit. It seems that she is not alone. Kamuri’s mom still picks her outfits with a lot of frills. Tama still wears kimonos from her grandmother. As for Eiko, she wears what her mother wants on occasion.
Also, there is Hana’s dream where Hana runs into Hiroe wearing sweats in the forest and runs off. Hana eventually heads to a fountain where Shion works as a fairy and offers Hana a golden Tama. Lastly, all of Hana’s friends admits that they were a rounin at some point. Eiko saying that she is 20 years old as a result of being a rounin is funny. While Hana admits to being a rounin, sadly it’s just a dream. I don’t think that Hana is quite there yet.
The next day, Hana goes clothes shopping with her friends. I find it hilarious how Kamuri and Tama runs off to see a tuna cutting demonstration. It obvious that they don’t want to go clothes shopping with Eiko. Either way, Hana finds a cute outfit that suits her and tries it on. Eiko eventually sees her in the new outfit and likes it.
Eventually, Kamuri and Tama comes to see Hana in her new outfit. Obviously, Tama seems to like the outfit choice Hana made. When Hana comes home for dinner, she saw that Shion bought tuna. She also takes a picture with Hana in her new outfit.
In short, it’s another fun episode. It seems that Tama perfected her Kamuri capturing techniques. Also, I liked Hana’s when she saw Shion and Hiroe in their school uniforms. Also, there was a nice moment between Eiko and Kiyose.
Final Impressions
Like with most Manga Time Kirara slice of life shows, Slow Start is a fun show with enjoyable characters. As always, the comedy is great with some lighthearted yuri with the usual pairings with Hana and Tamate, Eiko and Kamuri, Eiko and Kiyose and so on.
The interesting aspect with the characters is Tamate herself. She looks very familiar to Tama-chan from Binzume Yousei and in fact have the same personality. In fact, Tokumi Yuiko said that they are similar entities. In other words, Tamate is a grown-up version of Tama-chan. There is no wonder why she is so energetic.
With that, I will be covering volumes 4 and 5 of the manga in the future along with the anthology. In other words, it won’t be the last time I will be covering the series barring a second season.
My #1 show of the Winter season. This show made me very, very happy. Best girls are Tomato, Cousin Shion, Hiroe and Miss Enami. So much lighthearted gay goodness. Yeeeessssss.
I agree, it was a fun show to watch. Can’t wait to experience more of it in Manga form.
