Now that Mei finally made up with her father, Yuzu is able to upgrade her relationship status with Mei. However, there is a new rival lurking and it’s one of Yuzu’s childhood friends.
During the study session, Mei is helping Yuzu to pass the exams. After all, she doesn’t want to see her older sister get held back. Of course, Yuzu can’t think about anything besides the kiss she had last time. Mei eventually tells her that the kiss has no meaning. She believes that since they are both women and sisters on top of that, their relationship can’t be anything more than that. It seems that Mei haven’t recognized her relationship as romantic yet, although the last episode said otherwise. It will happen sooner than later.
Either way, Yuzu seems frustrated as she plays an arcade game with Harumi. Yuzu notices that one of her childhood friends is playing an arcade game next to her. Her name is Mizusawa Matsuri. Given what she did last episode, she is very manipulative.
She eventually takes Yuzu’s phone out from the bag and saw one of the photos. The photo had Harumi, Himeko, Yuzu and Mei in it. Yuzu is obviously blushing in the photo. This is when Matsuri finds out that Yuzu goes to an all-girls school. She asks if it’s true that girls kiss each other at the school. Of course, Yuzu takes back the phone and goes food shopping before heading home.
Mei with Himeko and one other student council member finds out that Yuzu ranked 97th. As you would expect, Yuzu made it to the top 100. While this shocks Himeko, it doesn’t come as a surprise since Yuzu put in a lot of effort. Mei eventually tells Yuzu that same day.
Before that happened, Harumi and Yuzu meets Matsuri at a karaoke box. Harumi says that she and Yuzu have to go back home after Yuzu finished singing. Of course, something comes up and Harumi have to leave.
This is when the manipulative aspect of Matsuri’s personality come into play. She extends it against Yuzu’s will. It seems that she wants to make a move on Yuzu. She now believes that Yuzu likes the black hair girl and Yuzu accidentally shared her name. She eventually asks what Yuzu will do if she falls in love with her sister.
It’s obvious that Matsuri is jealous of Mei and wants to win Yuzu’s heart. She will do anything to ruin their relationship. This is clear when she forces herself on Yuzu when Yuzu doesn’t have romantic feelings for her. In a way, Matsuri is similar to Himeko in this respect since she is clingy, but worse in comparison given how manipulative she is. Given that Matsuri forces a kiss on Yuzu and Mei saw it shows her mentality. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem to bother Mei yet.
Of course, Matsuri shows up the next day at the school and asks for a date. Obviously, Mei won’t have any of this and finally confronts Matsuri. She scolds Matsuri for trespassing. Yuzu had to push her out of the school’s ground before things became worse.
At the end of the day, Matsuri’s attempts to break up Yuzu and Mei won’t stop since she wants Yuzu for herself. It’s obvious that Yuzu doesn’t really have romantic feelings for Matsuri and only see her only as a friend. I think Matsuri’s attempt to derail Yuzu’s and Mei’s relationship will only blow up in her face in the end. Will Matsuri concede defeat in the war to win over Yuzu’s heart? Either way, we have to wait and see what happens next time.
Matsuri’s trouble, plain and simple. Mei looked to be up to the challenge though.
Harumin will always be best girl in the series. I wonder if we’ll get to see her older sister in the anime? It depends on how long the next arc will be. If it’s three episodes like this arc then we may not see much of onee-chan.
It’s not so surprising given Matsuri’s personality. Mei will beat her at her game, eventually.
But yes, I can agree with this given that she is there to comfort Yuzu. I never thought that she have an older sister. Well, I did look it up and her name is Mitsuko. Hopefully she will make an appearance in the anime.
Yes. Hopefully we’ll at least get a cameo.
