Now that Mei’s and Yuzu’s father, Shou returns from his trip, how will Mei react?
From last time, Shou finally appeared after returning from his trip. Yuzu tries to mend Mei’s relationship with her father, but it seems harder than it seems. Mei doesn’t believe that her father is the same one that she remembered during her childhood. During Mei’s childhood, he was strict and talented. Now, he doesn’t want to return to the academy anymore.
Of course, Mei is not happy how her father decided to abandon his ambitions of running the academy. While Yuzu tries to calm Mei down, Mei decided to seduce Yuzu. While Yuzu thought that Mei finally accepts him, she has to bring Mei back to reality. With that, she slaps Mei in the face.
After what happened last night, Yuzu woke up. Of course, Mei left the house instead of eating breakfast. It seems that her father regrets traveling around the world during her child hood when she needs him the most. When she arrived at school with Harumi, students were talking about Mei not being her usual self. This gives Yuzu the feeling that she doesn’t fully understand Mei’s feelings. She also realizes that Mei needs something else instead of family as she originally thought.
After school, Harumi laughs at how Yuzu’s face looked in the photos at a restaurant while Yuzu looks down. Yuzu realizes something after Harumi pets her head. Then, Yuzu receives a phone call from her mother that their father is leaving in two hours.
Given that Yuzu wants Mei to make up with her father, she made a mad dash back to the school to get her. It’s quite amazing how Yuzu had to use the school’s loud speaker system to receive Mei’s attention.
Meanwhile, it seems that Mei was too focused on dwelling on her father’s past. This is where there is a flashback when her father gives her a teddy bear keychain she wanted from an amusement park. This is the same key chain that Yuzu fixed in an earlier episode. There is no wonder why this mini teddy bear is important to her.
In the end, Yuzu was able to bring Mei. After Mei came back, Yuzu takes her to their father by borrowing Harumi’s bike. This is when Mei was able to mend her relationship with her father and see him off.
In the end, Mei decided to read all the letters that her father sent her with Yuzu. She finally understands what her father wants. Her father wanted to look for something that he left the family. While she still intends to inherit the school, Yuzu is so moved that she teared. Afterwards, they kissed and this kiss feels different from the others. I think they finally reach a new stage with their relationship. Mei finally realizes that she loves Yuzu. At last, it’s finally mutual.
Meanwhile, Matsuri calms down her friend, Mayu. It seems that Mayu broke up with her boyfriend. While going through her photos, she sees Yuzu. Since she hasn’t seen her for a very long time, she wonders how she is doing. Given that Matsuri insults Mayu behind her back can only mean that she is manipulative. Given what happens in the preview for next week’s episode, it’s easy to see why. We’ll find out soon enough!
Right then. Mei’s dad made quite the mess for Mei to clean up because of his selfish desire to do his own thing without really thinking about his daughter. One could say it was a necessary change because he wasn’t enjoying his life at the time but leaving Mei there wasn’t the best option as we saw in how it affected her. Thankfully Yuzu was there to help them patch things up a bit.
Also that consensual kiss was glorious.
It’s bound to happen given that her father can’t deal with the stressful life of running an academy. Given his divorce, seeing him break free is not surprising. Still, I agree that leaving Mei behind isn’t a good option. But at least it ended well and the kiss was nice to show the relationship upgrade between Yuzu and Mei.
