Now that Yuzu realizes her feelings for Mei, she decides to set things straight.
From last time, Mei’s grandfather decided to expel Yuzu from the school. While Harumi looked after Yuzu, Yuzu finally gains the courage to confront her grandfather again. After breaking into the school and heading to Chairman’s office, something surprises her. She saw her grandfather on the ground in pain. In short, she called for an ambulance for care.
With that, Mei learned that Yuzu is the one that brought her grandfather to the hospital. Aside from her grandfather reversing his decision to expel Yuzu, he gives Mei the freedom to do what she thinks best in her life.
On the night when their grandfather went to the hospital, Yuzu and Mei met on the hospital roof, Mei tells Yuzu to call her by her first name. This signals that she is willing to start over as true sisters. While this is a first step for Yuzu to get closer to Mei, Mei still won’t call Yuzu by her first name. I wonder why.
Either way, with Yuzu’s return to the school two days later, it seems as if nothing happened. Harumi is so happy that Yuzu is back that she hugs her. When Yuzu returned home, she saw that a teddy bear mini-plush’s head is coming off. So, she decides to fix it. While Mei didn’t like how Yuzu done it without her permission, she seems to be grateful for her to do it.
Even so, Yuzu is stumped on how she should confess her feelings for Mei. I have to admit, it’s fascinating how she uses yuri manga containing sisterly love to accomplish this. It’s hilarious how Harumi tries to imitate the moves in the manga. The funny thing is that Yuzu accidentally leaves it in her bag, which will get her into trouble. More on that later.
When Yuzu came home, it’s funny how she finds out that her mother bought a queen-sized bed for her and Mei. Yes, Mei’s and Yuzu’s mother is asking for it. Of course, Yuzu becomes so flustered that she made a big mess while trying to eat, which is funny. When Mei is fast asleep, Yuzu have trouble sleeping. She has the urge to show her feelings towards her by touching her.
After Yuzu tries to touch Mei, she woke up. Mei finally reveals that she has no interest in Yuzu. Apparently, she only kissed her to shut her up. Understandably, this gets Yuzu very angry. Mei will eventually notice, someday.
The next day, Yuzu and Harumi receive a punishment to clean the bathrooms. Yuzu becomes fired up as she cleans the room. Meanwhile, Mei and the student council members check through her stuff. Of course, Mei found the yuri Manga that Yuzu bought earlier and left a note.
After Yuzu came into the chairman’s office, Mei is there. Mei reveals that she found the yuri manga that Yuzu had and scolds her. Of course, Yuzu interrupts and kissed her before crying. Afterwards, she runs away in tears. Himeko of course witnesses the whole thing and she is not happy about it at all. It makes me wonder how Mei will react to this now that she made her older sister, Yuzu upset. I guess we have to find out where their relationship will go next.
Thee anime version is exactly what the manga needed. So much that the manga failed to do to keep me invested for long the anime succeeded at doing, ESPECIALLY IN REGARDS TO MEI! Compared to her “block of wood with a brain who has very subtle development” manga self her anime counterpart is a breath of fresh air for the character.
Harumin remains undisputed best girl.
Yuzu’s struggling with her true feelings but hopefully she’ll continue doing her best.
While I haven’t read the manga, so I can’t say. But still, it’s a good thing that the anime is an improvement from what you are saying.
Yep, Harumi is enjoyable as always. Hopefully, Yuzu will keep trying her best to get Mei to notice her feelings.
