It seems that the café has a new worker. It’s obvious who she is. It’s the girl who lost a dirty magazine.
From last time, a new girl decided to work at the café. Her name happens to be Amano Miu. She is the one that actually wrote the aforementioned magazines from last time. She leads doujinshi in a group called Hanazono Folder. Koyo is a big fan of her and asks for a signature. It’s not so surprising since Miu’s group also make Yuri doujinshi. Not to mention, she mentioned that she is working on a yuri and boys love manga. She also makes normal love works.
You might be wondering, why Miu wants to work at the café. While she mentions that she wants to mingle high school girls, there is one obvious reason. She is looking for material for her doujinshi she is working on. It becomes obvious when she is fired up when she receives a eureka moment. After witnessing Maika wanting to take Dino’s kind and droopy eyes, Miu comes up with an idea. In another instance, after witnessing Koyo drags Dino and Maika going after him, Miu decides to write it down. This is where she goes crazy. Thankfully, Maika doesn’t have a boyfriend or any romantic interest in Dino.
Aside from that, Miu shows Kaho her work that is suitable for the general audience. Miu eventually mentions a conflict with the co-creator over shipping. They went separate ways because Miu did not agree with the pairing the co-creator wanted. Does this sound familiar?
Believe it or not, shipping is serious business because some people prefer a certain pairing. There Pokémon anime is a good example. There are some people who prefer the shipping between Satoshi and Kasumi. On the other hand, people who like Pokémon X and Y anime prefers pairing Satoshi with Serena. In short, it’s a rabbit hole you probably don’t want to go down or you might lose friends.
Before Koyo drags Dino, there is some talk about outfits. After Koho believes that Miu would be better at being a teacher character, they eventually talk about outfits. I have to admit that I would like to see maid outfits. Maika even thinks it’s a good idea since it seems foreign. It’s not so surprising since she obsesses over foreign cultures.
Aside from that, Miu happens to take on the older sister trait. While she looks like a perfect older sister, it seems that Maika wants to be like her. It’s funny how she rubs ketchup on the customer’s face with a hard kitchen towel. In another instance, the customer requests a sandwich with no pickles and all tomatoes. Instead, she mixed up the order and request a sandwich with all pickles. This causes the customers to like her sadism, which is something she doesn’t want. I guess it’s hard for her to break the habit because anything she does will look sadistic.
Talking about Maika, the café receives feedback from the characters. It seems that the feedback is positive. One of the customers want Koyo to interact with customers. That person who made it is obviously Miu given how she reacts.
Aside from that, it seems that the customers want Maika to become more sadistic. To Maika’s despair, for a kind person like her, it’s hard for to do this. In short, Dino decides to take drastic action. I have to admit that the special sadistic training is hilarious and ridiculous. Maika didn’t seem to want to see anime with sadist magical girl. In addition, she is forced to play violent video games, read yuri manga with a sadist, and recite sadistic sayings.
In the end, the sadist side of Maika awakens. She whips Dino and even sits on him. She even orders him to make a sandwich and she ends up throwing it at Dino’s face. As the others witness Maika’s sadism, it’s obvious that they can’t have her do this to the customers. Yes, it’s a change for the worse and it would ruin the shop’s reputation.
In the end, Kaho and Koyo tells Maika to forget the sadism and tells her to just be herself and smile to the customers. Either way, Maika seems happy that she doesn’t have to become an actual sadist. It’s for the best since Dino doesn’t seem to enjoy the pain and humiliation this time.
To me, I prefer Maika’s usual self since she is cuter that way. Either way, her sadism will never go away completely. In the end, she forces a customer to drink glasses of water. While it’s subtle, it’s better than the full-on sadism. It just makes Maika completely out of character.
