Oh no, Ren looks like she is pregnant! Is she going to give birth? Not really.
I have to admit that it’s funny seeing Natsume’s, Yuzu’s and Satsuki’s reaction to Ren’s belly. It looks like she is pregnant. After Natsume sees what it is, it seems like it’s a mystery egg. An egg that attach to someone’s belly that is impossible to pull off. Of course, the mystery behind the egg gets funnier.
While Ren is sleeping, she had a nightmare that Natsume will leave Ren forever. In the turn of events during the dream, Ren’s dream becomes good as Natsume hugs her. After waking up, the eggs fall off and latches on Satsuki. She is annoyed that she had to take off during the night. As for her dream, it’s about the same as the flashback from the 2nd episode. This time Satsuki’s older sister appears and ask Satsuki about her feelings. Of course, her dream becomes good and Yuzu appears.
After Satsuki woke up, the egg detaches and hatches. The thing that came out of the egg is a pig that can eat bad dreams. Natsume names it Urinosuke from the color of the egg. Either way, the girls don’t have to worry about the egg attaching on stomachs anymore. Still, it’s funny how Satsuki doesn’t want to share her dream. Maybe it’s because it has Yuzu hugging her. Either way, it seems that Urinosuke seems to like Sakura. Not so surprising given how adorable she is.
In the second half, the focus is on a spirit of a deceased child of a grandparent that is staying at the inn. From the grandmother, there is a legend that children belongs to the gods until they become seven. They apparently become human after they survive seven years old.
Coincidentally, there is a crying baby that the girls found. Of course, her appearance relates to the grandmother since she is making clothes for that said child. Later, it seems that she has a doll that resembles Shino. Yuzu eventually realizes this. From Kiri, it seems that the grandmother is doing a tradition. She dresses a doll in wedding clothes in so the daughter can marry in the afterlife. This can explain why Shino is growing very quickly.
In the end, Shino finally came into terms to confront her mother to reunite. Either way, it seems that the grandmother had a nice resolution since she can be with her daughter forever. While the ending is bittersweet since Shino is not alive anymore, at least it’s nice for the girls to make the grandmother happy.
Aside from that, I have to admit that there are some funny moments, mostly with Satsuki. With Natsume mentioning Hiiragi to the guest, Satsuki punched her in the stomach. It’s obvious that she wants nothing to do with her older sister. Of course, when Satsuki and Shino is in the bath, Yuzu accidentally fell into the water. Afterwards, Satsuki and Shino laughs at Shino. Either way, it seems that Yuzu seems to like how Satsuki’s smile looked. I agree with her since Satsuki rarely smiles since she is serious most of the time.
I loved how accepting Natsume was of the idea of raising a child with Ren. So much squee! Satsuki’s feelings for Yuzu run deep. It’s only a matter of time.
The 2nd half melted my kokoro. So sad and cheerful, though the scene where we learned the truth about Shino made my jaw drop. Very creepy scene.
It would be nice to see them have a child, but sadly it didn’t happen yet. But yes, it’s nice to see more Satsuki and Yuzu.
The second half is heartwarming and bittersweet at the same time.
