Since it’s summer, it’s time for another exam. This time, it’s not just a written one, but a practical one too.
This time, Mizuki came on-screen during class to give a special announcement with other members of the student council. There will be an exam. For rank S students, they have another exam. Hopefully this time, Lion won’t bomb the written exam.
As for the second exam, it tests the student’s skills as logicalists. Obviously, Yayoi will prepare for it since she has to uphold her family’s reputation as heir. Surely, Nina wants to aim for the top spot as well and everyone thought she will get it. Sadly, there is a surprising conclusion at the practical exam.
With the written test out of the way, the girls take practical test. The goal is to go through an obstacle course without losing the plush. There are also restrictions on transforming as well. Of course, Yukari, Chloe and Mana along with the teachers will try to prevent the girls from advancing or even eliminate them. As expected, they managed to remove most of the students, except for Lion, Yayoi and Nina.
However, a terrible accident happens. Yayoi loses her grip while climbing the rocks. Lion decides to save her. It’s understandable why Yayoi becomes upset. She felt that Hina helping her breaks the rules. Lion thinks differently and believes the goal is to work together to bring the plush to the goal. Since the rules say nothing about saving or helping others, it’s perfectly okay. This is a big plus since Lion strengthens her bonds with Yayoi.
Sadly, Nina experiences a surprising defeat. Right before Nina defeats Chloe, Yukari and Mana ambushes her. As for Yayoi, she puts up a good fight against Chloe. Meanwhile, Lion uses her own powers to bypass the bridge. Without defeating Chloe, Yayoi managed to pass through her.
In other words, Lion and Yayoi are the only ones that made it. They also grew closer to each other too. At least Kagura praised Yayoi despite allowing Lion to take first place. Of course, this upsets Nina not because she didn’t get first place, but she has competition to win Lion’s attention. This failure should give her realization that she hasn’t learned everything yet as revealed in the second episode.
Either way, Lion achieving the top position on the practical exam show that she has a lot of potential. However, it comes at a cost. During Lion’s checkup with Kagura, it seems that there is something wrong. Lion is giving Rosa too much control of her body after transforming.
Of course, this is something that Kagura does not want happening since it can cause Lion to lose control. After all, it defeats the purpose of the academy recruiting Lion if they can’t train her to control her powers properly. Hopefully, she will realize this and learn to balance her powers to prevent a disaster.
I picked Yayoi as my best girl of the show in its premiere and up to this point she has been as wonderful as I knew she’d be. Getting her time to shine this episode was wonderful. She’s my favorite character on the show.
Poor Mizuki getting smacked on the head for no reason. All she wanted to do was liven up the students.
I wonder what will happen between Lion and Rosa?
I think with this episode, and I have to admit that Yayoi has become a more enjoyable character. Aside from being with Lion along with Nina last time, she loosened up for the better.
It’s not so surprising that Lion is relying too much on Rosa. If you look at her eyes after the transformation, she is giving most of the control. She will eventually learn to balance it with time.
Not really. she was always like this. Lion mainly helped show her what’s more important.
Hopefully she will learn to control the power.
