Now that Aiz and her party members arriveed at the 59th floor, they face off against a plant monster? Will Aiz find the answer she is looking for.
The monster Aiz and her party members fight is a corrupt spirit. In short, the party had a hard time trying to defeat it since it can cast strong spells. While Riveria and eventually Gareth protected the party members from the attack, it wasn’t enough. The spirit managed to overpower them.
Thankfully, the party members did not give up. At the end of the day, Lefiya is surprisingly saved the day. Using the magic Filvis gave to her, Lefiya used it to protect the party members. Also, she manages to counter the spirit’s ice attack towards the end so Aiz can deal the finishing blow.
In the end, it seems that there are more corrupt spirits still at large. The one that Aiz and her friends fought was there for support. As expected, there are more spirit orbs out there that want to devour Aiz. Just like Bell, it seems that Revis is targeting Aiz. While Aiz still doesn’t know Revis’s motives behind this, at least the familia have some idea about the corrupted spirit uses. In short, they have to protect Orario from a protential corrupted spirit outbreak.
Aside from that, it’s nice that Lefiya gets a happy ending. Aiz thanks Lefiya for helping her. Lefiya asks if she can always follow Aiz. Obviously, she accepts, which makes Lefiya happy. Of course, when Tiona and Tione saw Aiz and Lefiya, they come to hug them. As expected, Loki wants in on the fun. Thankfully, Lefiya knows how to dodge her. This shows that Lefiya grew a lot since she started her journey.
Final Impressions
I have to admit, Sword Oratoria is a little bit more entraining than the main series. It’s probably because Bell isn’t shown as much, although I do like Lili. The side story gives an interesting look at the struggles Aiz faces despite having a good reputation. Moreover, it gives a glimpse of fishy dealings in the guild as they aim to destroy the city and go after Aiz. As you would expect, Aiz and Bell given their situation and motivations are quite similar. The only difference is that Freya isn’t targeting Aiz, but rather Revis for malicious reasons.
As for the two-girl relationship potential, while Lefiya doesn’t confess to Aiz yet, it’s obvious that she has a huge crush on her. Still, at least nice that Lefiya has Filvis as an alternative. Aside from that, while some viewers may find Lefiya annoying, I think the show is enjoyable. It’s a definite that we will see more since there is a video game being made. Perhaps we will see a second season for the main and spinoff series in the future.
