Now that there is a matchmaking tour, I wonder why Ririko doesn’t want to take any part of it.
Now that the somen expo is over, now Yoshino has the matchmaking tour to do. She decides to help out with the community club with the tour. As expected, the members of the community club are looking for single women. With only three women taking the bait, you wonder why this tour isn’t that successful.
Thankfully, Yoshino with the help of her friends figures out events that show the best of Manoyama. They also decided on adding a traditional Manoyama dance performance. However, it seems that Ririko doesn’t want to do it. It makes me wonder why she avoids these kinds of stuff.
In a flashback, it seems that Ririko is a loner ever since her childhood. Is it because she is into strange things? Maybe. However, she manages to make friends with Shiori while making a clay model of Anomalocaris, an extinct organism. In another scene, while a teacher teaches them Manoyama’s dance, it seems that Ririko is not enjoying at all. It’s mostly because she can’t smile. Eventually, she sits out while everyone else dances.
I wonder why Ririko doesn’t want to do dance. It’s certainly not because of her grandmother since she doesn’t mind. Is it because of her stoic personality? Maybe, but then again, perhaps the legend of the village’s idol, a dragon might be behind it. The legend says that the dragon takes a form of a young woman. The dragon hates revelry. The Manoyama’s dance keeps it away. This may explain why Ririko doesn’t to do it.
Does this mean that Ririko is the dragon? Maybe because during the barbeque, she doesn’t seem to enjoy herself. She eventually walks away while her friends danced and eventually, rain started to fall. While this is probably a coincidence, it’s going to be awhile until Ririko opens up. I thought that she would open up by now since she is helping Yoshino out. Sadly, it’s not the case. Maybe she needs some more encouragement not just to make her become more open, but to make her smile.
As for the tour, this can explain why not so many came. It seems that older woman came with hopes to find someone. It seems that Erika is not pleased that these three women is going to take her crush. With that, she calls them old hags. It’s somewhat obvious that she doesn’t any of those women to take her crush. Either way, the dragon sculpture gets broken in half in the end with a man coming out of the lake. Thus, the plot deepens.
