Now that Shiori wants to take charge of the food presentation event, can she make it work?
Last time, Shiori decides to take Yoshino’s place as the leader for the food presentation project. It definitely took her a lot of courage to step up to the plate to save Yoshino. Still, everyone seems surprised that Shiori decided to take the leader position.
While having dinner at the restaurant, Maki and Shiori decides on somen. Without realizing, somen noodles is quite popular in Manoyama. With that, Shiori decides on somen mega expo which involves a contest instead of a presentation. After asking the Board of Merchants, namely Ririko’s mom about the proposal, she finally accepts. In short, the girls went around town looking for participants. Of course, Yoshino decides to work with Doku to create a crazy ride that involves somen noodles to show at the expo.
While the girls asked Kumano about putting a poster up, he offers the girls to try his French toast. It seems that he became interested in cooking after he impressed Sayuri with the food he cooked during home rec class. With that, he decided to go to France to perfect his French toast. He wanted to make Sayuri smile again. Of course, he finds out that French toast has nothing to do with France. Still, it’s nice that he didn’t give up on becoming a French chief despite the misunderstanding.
Sadly, he revealed that he never told Sayuri what he planned to do since she never showed up. He tried to ask her right before Sayuri started to move. He told her that she never came. However, she said that she waited for him. But what we didn’t know that Sayuri went to the station on the wrong date. Shiori finds this out after having a freak-out over the day of the competition without realizing the calendar is out of date. I have to admit that this was hilarious.
As for the somen expo, it seems that Shiori’s recipe for happy somen is a success. Yep, the recipe brought a lot of nostalgia to the towns people. Of course, nor the tourism or the merchant board won the contest. The winner is a mother’s club. They made spicy somen spring roll. It seems that the towns people like spicy food.
Either way, it’s nice how Kumano resolved his issues with Sayuri. It only took Shiori bringing her older sister’s outdated calendar to him so he can make Sayuri realize this. Still, it’s funny how Shiori and Sayuri having an airhead personality over their calendar freak-out. Either way, it’s a happy ending as Kumano gets to invite Sayuri to try out his new and improved French toast.
