With half the movie done, will Maki change her mind about acting?
From last time, Maki gave up on acting because of bad experiences she had in the past. Thankfully, she came back to apologize to Yoshino. With that, Maki helps Ririko out, which allowed her to finish the acting needed for the scene.
From this, Maki starts her soul searching, especially when they are at an elementary school recording an indoor scene. She went to the library where Ririko is. From there, they take a look at the pictures there. Maki recalls her time playing a role as a tree. While this role disappointed her, she became interested in acting nonetheless.
While it’s understandable why one loses a passion because of one bad incident. Sure, there will be setbacks, but one shouldn’t feel down because of it. In other words, Maki did some soul-searching thinking about getting back into acting.
After watching a video with her playing as a tree in a school play, she finally changes her mind. She takes Taiga’s place to act in a dangerous scene that involves running into the burning house. Thankfully, nobody got hurt in the recording of the last scene. From Maki hugging Yoshino after the filming shows that this wouldn’t be possible without her. Maki simply needed a push to change her mind.
On the other hand, we now know why Shiori doesn’t want the director to use the rundown house. Yoshino finds out the reason why after finding her. It seems that Shiori has a strong attachment to the house because of the memories she had there. She visited a woman that lived there during her childhood. When she heard that the director will burn the house down, it worries her.
That can explain why Shiori doesn’t want them to use the house. When Yoshino asks if Shiori doesn’t care about burning other houses that have nothing to do with her, Shiori becomes upset. It’s understandable why she feels that way, but she can’t keep living in the past.
While change is hard, it’s not end of the world. One eventually has to accept it. Thankfully, Shiori did even if it was difficult for her to see the house burn down. Still, it will live on in her memories. Thankfully, Yoshino requested a special thanks to the woman that used to live in the house. At least this cheered Shiori up despite what happened.
