As Yoshino finds a solution to get her first phase of the PR campaign to revive the town up from the ground, Sanae goes soul-searching.
From last time, it’s sad to see Sanae giving up by deciding not to help Yoshino anymore. Sure, Sanae realizes something from what Kazushi said. Then again, by giving up, isn’t Sanae essentially doing the same thing Kazushi told her.
You might be thinking, this is ironic, right? Yes, but thankfully she went soul-searching by walking around in town. She eventually sat down at a bench at the train station where she met Tatsuo, who works at the same wood sculpting shop. Aside from telling her that he read her blog post, he told her the time he lost his shoes trying to get to the station. Also, Sanae shared her experiences coming to the village and feeling that she hasn’t accomplished anything.
It’s obvious that Sanae is hesitant in giving up. While she thought about taking a post down about her new position, she ends up not doing it. While the girls did more research on wood sculptures, Sanae realizes that she is in the same situation and she needs to take a grip.
After seeing the wood sculptures that look like woman’s shoes that Tatsuo made, she finds out the truth about Kazushi. It seems that Kazushi is holding on the past by working on the ramma that was unfinished by the previous sculptor before he died. From the looks of it, Kuzushi is stubborn. Because of this, he wants to finish it despite it not earning any money.
Meanwhile, Yoshino and her other friends try to come up with an idea of redesigning the palace and have sculptures commissioned. Sadly, this is unlikely to be successful since the sculptors in the village won’t have the same reputation. Eventually, Riri suggested asking Sandal for help. From this, Yoshino comes up with a proposal that might work.
Yoshino eventually talked to Sanae about other people taking their places. She mentions that while there are replacements, some results can only be achieved by certain people. There are some hidden aspects in one’s work that people will eventually notice.
With that, Sanae comes up with a proposal to use the train station to display the wood sculptures. She wants to redesign the waiting room as an exhibit and rely on crowdfunding to fund the project. Thankfully, the girls eventually convinced Tatsuo to change his mind. In short, it seems that the people who came off the train seems impressed by the new exhibit and Sanae received praise for her idea. Yes, it’s from Kazushi. It just shows that Sanae just needed to put a little more effort to make her work stand out.
