It’s finally the big day as Poppin’ Party perform at Space Live House. Will their performance go well?
I have to admit, there is not much to say since the focus is on the performance. While it may be the last, it’s obvious that the girls will find another place that will take Space’s Place. Still, the memories of the girls performing at the venue will remain on deep in their hearts.
Of course, before Poppin’ Party performs, they introduced themselves and explain how they formed a band together. They finally tell the audience that their dreams of performing at the Space Live House has finally become true. With that, they performed and the episode ends.
After watching the last episode, it feels that the story doesn’t stop there. Of course, the creator already implied there is going to be some kind of sequel in the feature. Given the lack of popularity of the anime, I do have my doubts. Then again, the game on the other hand might say otherwise. Time can only tell.
Final Impressions
I have to admit that BanG Dream was somewhat disappointing. While there are some good and enjoyable moments, the show resembled Love Live too much that it doesn’t felt unique. This is ironic since the creator states that idol popularity will die out and they made an idol anime and market it as a girl-band anime. As mentioned in a recent editorial, BanG Dream did not show anything that make it believe that the girl-band thing is going to be a trend.
In short, while there are enjoyable moments, BanG Dream did not live up to expectations with the glass half full. Will a sequel will help? If they try to make the show more unique instead of just being an idol show disguised as a girl band anime. I do hope so since I enjoyed some of the characters.
Despite similarities to other idol and girl band shows I liked what I saw and hope to see more of Poppin’ Party’s journey in the future.
Hopefully we’ll see more. Hopefully they won’t bring back the cringeworthy Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
