After Kasumi lost her voice during the second audition, will she be able recover from this?
From the looks of it, it seems that her denial or rather hiding the truth from her friends caused another audition disaster. This is not surprising since neither her friends are confident and have their doubts about their second attempt. Have they finally caught on to something that Kasumi does not know? While over practicing can be a cause for this, I highly doubt it. We find out later that this is not the case.
Either way, Kasumi spends time recovering. She got bored going home that she goes to the pool and see her sister swim. Eventually, she talks to Yuri who is at the pool practicing swimming. She suggests that it might be stress. Kasumi then told what the owner told, which caused her to lose confidence when she started practicing afterwards. When she realized that she only had two more tries, she becomes nervous. Sadly, Kasumi has to figure this one herself. It’s understandable, but I think things will happen differently if she told her friends earlier rather than keeping it to herself.
She eventually talked to her older sister about what she talked about with Yuri. It seems that her older sister experienced a slump similar to Kasumi’s. Eventually, one will overcome it.
The next day, her voice came back and her friends are glad it did. When they started practicing, the same thing happened at the second audition. Kasumi lost her voice again from the unresolved immense pressure mentioned earlier. This causing her to run out and leave. This is where Arisa’s suspicions became true about Kasumi.
Thankfully, her friends caught up with Kasumi to address the issues they knew along. Kasumi finally admits what the owner told her and the immense pressure to pass the audition. Since they only have one more chance left, it’s understandable why she feels this way. But hiding the truth is not going to make things better, especially when her friends know that Kasumi was the weakest. However, they won’t let that fact bother them.
I think Kasumi is being a self-defeatist. After being in denial and afraid of what her friends think of her that she lost all motivation. I don’t think they would be her best friends if they think that Kasumi is a deadweight and kick her out. They are supportive and want Kasumi to improve. With a bit more effort and passion, Kasumi can address her weaknesses as a musician quickly. As they say, you have to pull yourself by the bootstraps and smile.
As a whole, the girls eventually sing. While Kasumi sang softly, at least it’s a sign that Kasumi is starting to get over it. As expected, it only takes Kasumi to accept and admit her weaknesses to get to this point. After all, she is not in it alone.
It’s obvious that they will most likely pass their last attempt or otherwise, the story won’t go on. The question is, how will the owner react to their performance? We’ll find out soon enough.
This was a sad and uplifting episode. Glad Kasumi’s harem were there to cheer her up. They love her and her snuggles after all.
Oh and I guess Aa also helped…
