While Kotarou’s plan failed last time, he is not going to let a setback to stop him from finding Kagari’s good memories.
After the plan failed last time, Kotarou is no longer playing around. With that, he starts killing of summoners to protect Kagari. He uses two of the monsters from Kotori so they can eat the dead bodies. In other words, Kotarou has betrayed Gaia when Guardian captures the members of the faction he used to belong to. He eventually does the same for Guardian. The funny thing is that he spares Imamiya for some reason.
Either way, Kotarou has set the stage to remove all the members that posed a threat to Kagari. This meant that he had to betray is allegiance to Guardian as well. Since he used his Rewrite ability to take down a helicopter, he had to face Esaka at some point. I have to admit that the fight between them is underwhelming, but Kotarou managed to win. Still, it appears that his overuse of the Rewrite ability is taking a toll on him.
On the other hand, it seems that Kagari has become somewhat broken. It’s obvious since things are not going as planned. Especially with Sakura starting the salvation process, Kotarou is running out of time. Somehow, I think Kotarou will pull through given that Terra is the true ending. Even so, I wonder how he will pull it off.
Aside from that, it seems that Kotarou finally tells Kotori to bugger off after shooting her zombified parents. Sure, Kotori really hates Kotarou now, but it’s for her own good. It’s because protecting Kagari is a dangerous job. Still, I have to admit it’s nice to see young Lucia and Shizuru since they are adorable.
