Now that Kotarou goes to the battle field, will he find clues for his sense of belonging.
Kotarou is finally fighting in the battlefield. From the looks of it, it seems that his first kill caused Kotarou to become rattled. It’s to the point where he didn’t want to eat dinner.
It’s understandable that having to kill people in war can be tough. Hpwever, other members bullying Kotarou doesn’t help either. Thankfully there a girl who stops his suicide attempt. Her name is Yasamin. It appears that she looks after Kotarou and the other children. Also, Luis, Kotarou’s partner plays with the children too. He also helps him out when older solders bully him. From this, it seems that things are going well until their team participates in a full-scale operation.
After two years, Kotarou’s team goes on a mission to blow up a Gaia narcotic factory that Gaia conceals with a farm. During their operation, Luis and Kotarou finds out that Gaia is using children as a summoner. While the surviving children are slightly injured, they decide to betray Guardian after the captain kills two children in front of them. They hid the children before that happened and then took them to safety. In other words, Kotarou is the only survivor.
It’s not so surprising that Luis decided to sacrifice himself to allow Kotarou to bring the children to safety. After all, he revealed that he accidentally killed his friend during a small fight. In other words, Luis is doing this to forgive for his sins. Either way, Kotarou had to use his rewrite abilities so that the children can survive.
With that, Kotarou basically saves all the exploited children to safety and Yasamin looks after them. He also supports them as well by giving Yasamin money. While it’s sad that Kotarou can’t see them that much, at least he said goodbye to her before returning to Japan. With that, I wonder how will Esaka will react when he sees Kotarou again next time.
