At last, Shizuru finally gets some time in the spotlight! Will we finally know why she has different color eyes?
From the last episode, it seems that Kotarou has found an old gentleman that knows about the unidentified mysterious animals. While it’s obvious that he is doing it for his own benefit, it eventually led him to seeing Shizuru again. Still, it’s funny that Kotarou has to go through parts of the city that has delinquents. Apparently, Haruhiko is a king of some slum, which it’s not so surprising at all.
Although it’s obvious that the antique shop that Sougen runs feels more like a café, Shizuru was there too. While walking home, we learn some things about Shizuru. It seems that she goes to bakeries on a regular basis to get bread crusts. Not only that, there is one album that she wants to listen that Touka seems to like. In short, Kotarou gains her trust by giving a music player that he doesn’t use. After he tells some things about his past, Shizuru tells one of her secrets.
I have to admit that it is sad to see her parents completely forget about her. It’s for a reason. Back when she was young, her parents were getting along with each other. Her dad hoped to get a new house until something unexpected happen. An unidentified mysterious creature attacked, thus causing her dad to become injured by a good luck charm and Shizuru injuring one of her eyes. Her eye miraculously healed, but it is a different color. Aside from Shizuru being bullied at school, her mother had PTSD when they tried to grill Saury.
In short, they sent Shizuru off to an institution for money. This of course made the problem worse as they started fighting. It can explain why they don’t remember her since Shizuru basically erased their memories. She blamed herself for causing this for erasing too much of their memories.
While her past came out of the blue, it’s easy to sympathize with her. It’s unfortunate that things have to take a turn for the worse due to a supernatural phenomenon. Hopefully Kotarou will find some way to help her out. At least now we know the secret behind her eye.
With that, the introduction to Lucia’s problem came out of nowhere. She doesn’t want to pick up a baseball because it’s filthy and it’s near the flower bed. While it’s somewhat obvious that she is a clean freak judging from Kotarou’s complement last time, but it’s different this time. Not only that, is it odd that she wears gloves all the time? While Chihaya’s criticism towards her it’s unjustified, we will most likely learn the reason why Lucia got upset next time.
