It seems that Aoba have overslept a bit too much.
I have to admit that while I sleep in on weekends, I am never late to my job. Then again, it happens once in a while, especially if one’s alarm doesn’t go off. Apparently, Aoba’s parents were away and her alarm didn’t go off. In short, she suddenly realized how late she was to work and quickly ran out of the house. It’s surprising that Aoba is worse at running than Yun despite both girls being bad runners. Sadly, Aoba ended up tripping and falling, thus Hifumi and Yun had to help pick up her stuff.
While Ko was annoyed that three of her co-workers are late, thankfully she let them off the hook. That is until she read some of the reasons why, which made it unable for her to excuse them. Still, Hifumi’s reason of being late was funny since she enjoyed her breakfast a bit too much. Who uses that as an excuse of being late?
Aside from that, most of the episode focused on Aoba’s struggles of perfecting her NPC character model. It can get frustrating when one has to do rework if something is not right. It’s understandable since she is still learning.
However, it’s probably a good idea to take one’s time, even if the deadline has to be pushed back to get it right. It’s better to get the job done right and be late rather than get it done before the deadline with the worknot meeting requirements. I understand since I have been in a similar situation before. Still, Aoba shouldn’t work into the night just to get it done. Being overworked will eventually impact one’s health and job performance.
Eventually she got it thanks to some suggestions she received from her coworkers. While Ko approved her work after days of work, it will take a while until Aoba is able to do it in her sleep. Despite her frustrations, it seems that she was happy with the final result and hopes to become even better at what she does.
This was both an educational and enjoyable episode, more so of the former than last week’s. Aoba is willing to learn and I enjoy that.
I find it amusing how someone wrote an editorial about this episode promoting working late as a good thing or something like that. I saw it more as using your knowledge wisely. That or they’re referring to Ko sleeping in the office.
Oh and Aoba missed out on an amazing offer by the director. Poor lass doesn’t know what she gave up.
It’s a good thing that she is eager to learn and hopefully she will improve. But still, it’s a given that people tend to work late, especially in Japan. To me, I don’t tend to work overtime since things can be simply done the next day and work and life balance.
