Yep, we are already in the second week and of course, I decided to pick up another show, which I will share my impressions for this week.
Hundred – Episode 2
From last time, it seems that Hayato managed to get himself into a duel with the student council president, Claire. As expected, I face palmed when the cliché of Hayato accidentally groping Claire’s breasts happened. Aside from that, the battle is somewhat interesting and it seems that Hayato indeed has some potential, especially after his special hidden ability activates, which allows him to become very powerful in exchange of losing complete control. In short, he almost beaten Claire if she didn’t use her most powerful attack to take him out.
While this gives me bad feelings considering that he will become too powerful that he will beat everything like the said hero from a certain anime. On the other hand, considering that he doesn’t remember what happened and that it activates at certain circumstances, I doubt that he can abuse it often.
Aside from the duel, the rest of the episode was superficial with Hayato going on a date with Emilie with his sister finding out about it. I still don’t buy the fact that Emilie is a boy because of her hair too long. Also, why would Hayato go out with a boy? Even his little sister seems a bit suspicious about Emilie’s claims, especially given the said scene from last time. Either way, I am not that impressed with this show although this episode was slightly better. In other words, the next episode will decide if I want to continue or not. If not, I have a show in mind that will replace this one.
Pan de Peace – Episode 2
At last, the pink haired girl finally shows up with a French bread, which she apparently uses a French bread as a weapon. Sadly, it’s not effective to protect herself from a group of girls that find her adorable. Apparently, she is Fuyumi’s little sister, Noa and Ayumi knew her since their childhood.
Still, given her age and small stature, there is no wonder people are obsessed with her. It seems that she wants to grow since she drinks milk three times a day. Even so, I have to admit that she is probably the cutest out of the whole cast.
Kumamiko – Episode 1 and 2
While I didn’t pick up this show initially, I finally caught up and I have to say that the comedy very funny. It involves a shrine maiden named Machi who is somewhat a crybaby that wants to attend high school in a city and a talking bear named Natsu. Yep, he is overly protective and wants her to stay at the village… forever! Still, the story behind the origins of the talking bear and the village was definitely something and it gave the children who heard the story wrong ideas on the line of bears are perverts.
As for the second episode, it was hilarious. In order for her to past the test in order to attend a school in a city, Machi has to get a Heattech item and she has no idea what it is. She comes up with a plan to get to a clothing store which involves taking a bike. Sadly, Murphy’s Law came in full force in a hilarious manner with a bridge going out, her bike disappearing and her dad’s bike which she rides on failing catastrophically. Then again, it makes me wonder why she didn’t take the car in the first place?
In short, it’s funny to see her realize that Heattech is a shirt that keeps the body warmth in and taking her anger out on a drunken Matsu and her cousin after they got out of the store.
Aside from that, the show is very enjoyable and I wonder what will happen next as she gets closer to her goal of attending a school in a city. Still, it’s funny to see Machi so behind the times in terms of technology since she whips out a mini disc. Who uses mini discs anymore? Almost everyone I know uses smartphones or flash-based MP3 music players to listen to music.
Last Weeks Anime Power Ranking
- Kumamiko – Episode 1
- Anne Happy – Episode 1
Note: Haifuri Episode 1 did not make it to this week’s ballot due to not making it after the cutoff.
KumaMiko’s fun despite Papa Bear having the token naughty animal trait in anime. He’s cool though and his father-daughter relationship with the miko is nice.
Pink Chino is boss!
It’s probably not so surprising since Natsu tries his darnest to keep Machi in the village. Then again, it’s understandable given how naive Machi is…
Yes, Noa is very adorable.
