At last, Akari passed her first test to become Aria’s Amica. Sadly, there is one girl who is not happy with Akari being obsessed with Aria 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As you would expect, Akari has a long way to go until Aria officially accepts her as her Amica. Akari still needs to take back her gun, which she only got back for a few minutes before it got taken back. However, it seems that Aria knows from some investigating that Akari might have some ninja training after witnessing her using the Tobiugachi skill during the test. I guess Aria is curious, especially since it’s unusual for a E-ranked Butei to know these skills. With Shino acting strangely, it gives her an opportunity to observe her more.
From the looks of it, it seems that Shino is infatuated with Akari that she becomes jealous. It’s quite obvious when Akari talks about Aria non-stop, causing her to become uncomfortable. After school, her personality completely changes as she becomes crazy and tries to find a way to void Akari’s Amica contract with Aria. She finds a way, which involves forcing Akari loose a challenge without Aria around so she is has to break her Amica contract forever.
Although Shino spends her time with Akari and loving every moment of it, when nightfall comes, she becomes axe-crazy and violent. She challenges Akari and clearly, Akari is at a huge disadvantage. Not to mention, Shino even lets the guard dogs out, thus reminding Akari her traumatic moments during her training. While we didn’t learn much about it, we now know where she possibly learned the Tobiugachi skill.
In the end, after Akari was reminded that she has to handle things on her own by Aria, she manages to use her necktie to stop the attack and use it to thrust Shino into the fountain. This just shows that Akari isn’t completely useless without any weapons and as expected, Shino makes up with her.
While Shino eventually becomes an Amica with Shirayuki, who has a very similar personality in regards to becoming axe crazy at her love interest, which does not surprise me at all, I’m glad that Akari finally proved that she is capable even if Aria is not around aside from being able to sew a glider in one day. She just lacks self-confidence, which is something that she will eventually get over. Still, I wonder how long it will take until Shino snaps back to her scary side. Time can only tell.
Shino-chan super cool and I hope one day Akari will acknowledge her love.
Hopefully someday, but it seems that she has a lot of competition with Aria… But who knows if Akari will grow a female harem of her own.
That would be nice but if the main series is any indication it is sadly a faint dream.
