It seems that Fubuki got a bit jealous since Yuudachi received a remodel.
Judging from the title, you would expect that this episode would put the spotlight on Yuudachi right? You would be half right because she receives a remodel. Of course in the actual game, your cards won’t glow and remodeling is completely optional. Even though a remodel does not necessarily give a complete change in appearance, it can give a moderate boost in stats or add more equipment slots. In some cases, it can change a ship-girl’s class. Because of this, some players choose not to upgrade. Still, I am curious if the Anime will actually reveal how a ship girl is created considering that they already show one being remodeled.
I have to admit that the first half was very enjoyable for the fact that they shown off Yuudachi’s new form while Kongou acts crazy in the factory and Fubuki becoming really happy over Akagi patting her head. Sadly, it comes to an abrupt end with Nagato calling her and Yuudachi to tell them that the 5th Squadron is being disbanded with Fubuki being sent back to the Naval Academy while Yuudachi gets moved to the first squadron.
While the drama felt forced with Fubuki becoming really depressed because she worked so hard but got nothing in return, it make her realized that everyone is also working hard behind the scenes. Despite the drama being somewhat pointless considering that the Admiral already planned to remodel her, it’s was nice to see Kongou comfort her after she saw her crying.
In the end, the plan was going to fail considering that the Admiral made a fatal error by sending the main crew to a separate base, which in turn made the Naval Academy vulnerable. With the Admiral missing in action, I wonder what they are going to do now since most of the buildings got severely damaged. Sure, they rebuilt most of it, but I can imagine how much time it will take until everything goes back online so that they can launch an attack on the Abyssal. Aside from that, I’m betting that Fubuki will look the same after she gets remodeled, except being slightly more powerful than before. We’ll see next time.
It’s too bad Poi doesn’t Poi as much after evolving but that’s what growing up does to people. At least she still Pois a Poi once every two sentences.
Do keep in mind The Admiral works in mysterious ways. The Admiral has a habit of delaying “by the way”s.
I kind of feel that way too. While her Kai ni looks cute, it doesn’t really compare with the cuteness before…
Still, I won’t be surprised if the Admiral ended up teleporting or escaping through a trap door considering that the Admiral planned for the unexpected.
